and a bit more fuel to the fire from Mr Bamber.
Further down his Twitter page, he says,

“See you when I am back on the Bond.”

to someone called Tanaaz Bhatia.

Tanaaz Bhatia runs a company called Bottomline Media, which is based in Mumbai.

so perhaps a Mumbai pre title sequence isn't that far off?

When information about the Siena sequence first leaked to the press, they were saying that it was QoS’s climax. So don’t put too much store in any of these “Journalists” knowing where things will fit in the finished product. That’s assuming it’s not all made-up anyway. But they could have heard whispers that such a sequence is being planned, it’s happened before; especially when filming permits are being sort and complex overseas location work is being organised.

So, if we can believe any of these stories coming out of India, (and that’s a BIG ‘if’, by the way) there’s a bit more to it than a pre-title sequence. Over the last few months, there has been talk of location scouting along the Konkan Railway and Goa.

It may be interesting to note, that the above article says that they intend extending the ND Studio’s permanent back-lot set of the streets of South Mumbai to include the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus. This is the rail station where the Konkan Railway departs Mumbai for stops that include those in Goa. Are things starting to slot together?

All pretty idol speculation, granted.

I think India is a location and a pakour chase through south Mumbai with cars exploding sounds like an action sequence from a Craig bond film... We'll know in 6 months everything pretty much.

A parkour chase with explosions....... has been done before. Whatever else is planned for the 23 opening, I can't see it being a duplication of the CR chase but set against a different background.

According to The Budapest Report, nearly half the film is going to be shot in South Africa. Notes the story, which reportedly came from a source close to the filming: "Other parts of the filming are planned for Serbia and Dubai, where the secret agent will also be averting terrorist plots.... Bond will be shooting in the famous ocean front, the neglected townships and luxury vineyards in Stellenbosch and Franschhoek while a climatic scene will be shot on the top of Table Mountain."

BS perhaps... cool soundin g you better believe it.

Popdash.com reports: "James Bond actor Daniel Craig reportedly asked Kings Of Leon to provide the theme tune to the next 007 movie only for the band to turn him down. The 'Sex On Fire' rockers revealed the approach as they launched their new tour documentary 'Talihina Sky' in London this week. Speaking at the launch lead singer Caleb and drummer Nathan said they were thinking about reconsidering their refusal. Revealing that Craig asked them three times, the pair reportedly said that a movie theme tune would give them a chance to work with strings and an orchestra, something they might not do on their normal albums."

In the other thread (Hollywood Reporter South Africa)I've posted a link to the original story in The Budapest Report. Go and have a look. It's a very strange article, they seem to be suggesting that Bond 23 is Carte Blanche. Not very possible, in my opinion.

So into the bin it goes. Takes something to not even get past your low watermark of shocking gullibility.

After reading Carte Blanche, I think it's time we consider renaming this thread:

"We call wet discard 'garbage'-leftover food, for instance. 'Trash' means dry materials, like cardboard and dust and tins. What the bin collectors pick up from in front of homes and offices is 'municipal solid waste,' or 'MSW.' That's also called 'refuse' or 'rubbish.' 'C and D' is contruction and demolition debris. Institutional, commercial and industrial waste is 'ICI.' The most inclusive term is 'waste' but I prefer 'discard.'"

What bearing could Craig possibly have on the producers' choice of title song performer? And it's not like, had Kings of Leon actually believed DC had any say in the matter and said "yes", that it wouldn't have been totally ignored by Arnold or whoever winds up doing the music for B23.

I have the greatest image in my head of Daniel Craig at a Kings of Leon concert and he stops by before the show to chat and just lightly drops a hint that they should do the Bond 23 theme only to get immediately shut down then after the concert he is heavily intoxicated and just says "DUDE, YOU GOTTA DO THE BOND THEME MAN!"

Well, South Africa, Serbia and Dubai are not so much guesswork as just taken straight out of Carte Blanche. As for the stuff within South Africa, the oceanfront, the neglected townships, are again locations they’ve simply taken from the book. Vineyards are mentioned, but not visited. (Edit: it slipped my mind, Bond does visit Franschhoek in the book)

That leaves us with - “a climatic scene will be shot on the top of Table Mountain”. This is the inventive guesswork in my opinion. I can see how this would be a way of making the end of Carte Blanche more cinematically Bond.
But the whole Budapest Report story seems to be written from the assumption that Bond 23 will be a film of Carte Blanche, which would be very surprising. No?

Not much bearing, if any. Reputedly, George Lazenby wanted "Blood, Sweat & Tears" to perform the title song for OHMSS. It didn't happen. Whatever creative issues the producers occasionally had with John Barry, I can't recall an occasion when they went over his head and asked the opinion of their leading man regarding the title track performer. (And, if you read Doublenoughtspy's book about OHMSS, Barry's disdain for Lazenby's opinion about the actual theme and music score is obvious.)

I’d say not really, we have a little bit of evidence to suggest that South Africa was/is being considered. As for India, we only have reports from the notoriously fanciful Indian tabloids.

True, it seems as though South Africa is very likely with the numerous reports that Mendes and Broccoli have spent some significant time in South Africa. If filming is supposed to start in September we should be getting some solid news not too long from now, but you never know, some people have been right from putting two and two together, but the suggestion that Bond 23 is an adaptation of Carte Blanche, and seems nearly impossible considering the process of writing Bond 23s script.

I’d bet quite a bit of money that Bond 23 will not be Carte Blanche.

Filming starts in November by the way, not September.

As for “numerous” souses saying that - “Mendes and Broccoli have spent some significant time in South Africa.” well, we don’t really. All we have is a former cricketer tweeting that he chatted to them on a plain to Johannesburg and the Hollywood Reporter saying that South Africa is under consideration. All the reports stem from those 2 small bits of info.

Yes, this was reported in the Telegraph the other day, it’s cleverly concealed somewhere else here too.
