I may get shot for this suggestion but i'm listening to New Divide By Linkin Park
and it got me thinkin that i'd love to hear Linkin Park do a Bond theme, assuming they write it with David Arnold. Linkin Park's sound would match a full orcahestra brilliantly, and i would love to hear what they came up with.
I wouldnt mind Linkin Park to be honest. But right now there sound is acssociated with Transformers. Would Bond really want to be in that company?

I think Leona Lewis would be good if they choose a female.
I don't like Radiohead, Massive Attack or most of the others. They have many weird bull crap songs that I just cant be bothered with. They are kind of low key alternative.
They need a band/artist that is actually more well known and cool...
I loved Chris Cornells theme, and Jack Whites was OK.
I loved Goldeneye, Tomorrow Never dies and 'The World is not Enough' themes they have to be some of the best.
I think they need to use the Violin, it always sounds awesome.
These are some James Bond intros with Muse, they are pretty cool:

I'd like to see Duffy or Gabriella Cilmi do the theme.

With that said, there are a few artists that I would like to see take a crack at a Bond title song, but I would imagine that they'd be so wildly inappropriate for a Bond film that there's probably less than a 0% chance of it ever happening.

Indeed. I doubt EON would ever go with some of my top picks

You took a bullet for me *sniff* its so touching.*Jumps in the bullets path and pulls a Neo from The Matrix (No.)*
I do get what you mean about LP being associated with Transformers at the moment, but i think in collaboration with DA and a full orchestra it would be different enough to rid themselves of that association whilst still keeping that Linkin Park sound.

I'm not quite sure where RAIN ON YOUR PARADE fits in a desert-set title sequence, but I heard a wee rumour that this song was Duffy's "entry" for the Bond gig last year.Muse would be great, but i dont wanna hear another guy singing in the next one.

I agree. Time will tell.I still think Amy Winehouse could produce something incredible for a Bond movie if she would just get her act together!!

You are pulling my chain, yes? That was an awful song. I had to mute that on the first play let alone the 100th.I wish they'd consider Mya to do the theme. She nailed Everything or Nothing.

YES (formed 1968) The band has been around for 41 years and they show no signs of slowing down they are stong orchestral and Had some succes in the 80's. They are still great song writers and I think they would do amazing at Bond music
Best Examples
A few from their 2001 album Magnification Which featured and orchestra
Spirit of Survival (arguably the best example listen to the Kick bass riff that comes in 48 second into the song that to me sounds very bondian)
Magnification
Another Nice example of Rock with orcheastrion
Soem other older but still good examples
Shoot High Aim Low (which Sounds like a bond title in and of itself) Moody atmosphric

Tempus Fugit (a fast paced upbeat song)

Hey uif people can drag out campaigns to title the next bond film risico every single film I will campagin for yes every Single Film
next a rleativly new band in the Prog world
Circa (formed 2006) Billy Sherwood (ex Yes) On Bass with Now Jay Schellan on drums Tony Kaye( ex yes) on Keys and Jimi Haun on guitar. The band is really amazing if you haven't checked them out check them out.
Cut the ties off their debut album Great playing great rock and roll.

I'm telling you Circa can do anything..
And lastly
Rush (formed i believe 1974)
Far Cry (best version i could find youtube just sucks sometimes) an ice Classic Rock great riff defimnitly bond flavor

Indeed, don't really think it fits QoS, but, imo, as I noted earlier:
Doesn't really seem like it would work for a movie, but it does sound like it could be the theme song to a Bond game, and I think Duffy does show the possibility of doing a Bond theme in that song.

Re a-ha I was just going to post the same. They would do another good theme, but sadly I don't think it will happen either. They recorded a song called SOLACE in 2002 interestingly enough.Just get Chris Cornell back. I would also like to see a-Ha do another one, though that would probably never happen.
They're probably not "hip" enough, but as a band they're as good as ever (I'm Norwegian so I am obliged to like them).
And I would honestly love Chris Cornell to become the "new Shirley Bassey"; an artist EON kept going back to for more. His voice is beyond fantastic.

But as long as it doesn't involve Alicia Keys' discordant wailing, I will be happy enough.

I just didn't think it was a great Bond track.
Leona Lewis would probably do a good job as well....
Duffy would do a good job also....

Duffy and Amy Winehouse came up several times, and I think they would be excellent, if only they get the feel of the song right.

You Know My Name (Cover)
Diamonds for Tears
Another option, I wouldn't mind hearing Amy Lee of Evanescence. She has a beautiful voice.
If you like the sound of Chris Cornell (Soundgarden/Audioslave) try listening to the band "Operator." The guy sounds exactly like him.

I always thought Roxy Music was DadRock, but having fallen in love with a few tracks via ASHES TO ASHES I must say I am a new convert.Probably going to be given hell for this, but Flashbacks of a Fool has turned me on to Roxy Music. A bit dated and probably more suited to the good old Roger Moore days, but I could still see them doing a Bond theme.

I thought Cornell's "You Know My Name" was much better than I had expected it to be and I actually like it more as time passes (unlike Madonna's irritating "Die Another Day" mess which ranks right up there with chalk on a blackboard).
I also thought that "Another Way To Die" would have benefited greatly from Alicia Keys handling the vocals solo. An awesome voice wasted screaming lyrics instead of vocalizing them.
