That means nothing more than they have refused to comment. They refuse to comment on anything unless it is their announcement. It is sort of why they are able to be left alone and it is certainly their business. I would personally be wary of any article about anything saying "a spokesman refused to comment". It usually means there is nothing to comment on and that no-one has even been asked to comment. It's called padding out a story with enough swathes of vagueness to hope it gains validity in the telling."Eon Productions has refused to comment on the rumours."
Now, that is interesting.
If there was no inkling of truth, they surely would've denied it.
Hmm, then again... I would assume they would take advantage of it, getting the heat of them, when they work on the script in peace.

What makes you think Risico has anything to do with drugs?
Maybe because it revolves around a smuggler and an opium dealer?

Great PR for both ventures.

I just think when he is NY doing his play he may film some Bond scenes too.
Great PR for both ventures.
Ooh, thanks for reminding me about that. So going to get myself some tickets.

Well they aren't on sale yet.
It's opening up after Labour Day there.

I figured they wouldn't be on sale yet. It's only June and if I remember correctly that article said September. Just general musings about future plans.

And Quantum Of Solace revolved around Bond at a dinner party, but that wasn't in the final film.

(much of the same tabloid speculation although the "heroin barons" angle is new)
JAMES Bond will take on the Taliban and heroin barons in Afghanistan in his next big screen adventure.
Scriptwriters have been quizzing British Embassy staff in the capital Kabul about life in the war-torn country.
An ex-member of the Foreign Office's Afghan anti- drugs team is also giving an insight into British operations there.
An insider at Eon Productions said: "They are trying to get an accurate picture of the military situation."
The film, starring Daniel Craig as 007, is earmarked for release in late 2011.

Never heard of NOTW but it seems very National Enquirer. Wouldn't trust it an inch past I can throw it.

Well quite. It is rubbish but I thought I'd post it anyway. No harm meant.

Aren't people getting a bit carried away here?
Afghanistan could be an ingredient in all sorts of ways...it doesn't have to be the Afghanistan of the headlines... we could be seeing a corrupt Afghan ambassador, an off-story character could be missing in action, YUSUF could have always been married to an Afghan woman, Quantum could be people smuggling or - better still - Quantum could be on its downers as a result of the banking crisis and needing to sell some hard drugs fast (something that could happen all off camera). This is all just inert speculation, but there are all sorts of avenues a region, country or locale could be getting the research treatment... and no-one has really said it was for a Bond film anyway...?
Yes, but it's fun to get carried away.
And Daniel Craig hinted that Quantum wouldn't necessarily feature in the next movie. It could be his Goldfinger, the first one without SPECTRE.

I would not take too seriously what is said by anyone right now... There are a lot of statements doing the rounds - "a bit more fun", "2011", "we're having a break right now" - and all of them are not always that true as time will indeed prove.Aren't people getting a bit carried away here?
