Okay, I didn't like Madonna actually being IN DAD. As a matter of fact, although DAD has its moments, it is my least favorite Bond film from Brosnan AND one of my least favorite Bond films.

With that said, I ACTUALLY like Madonna's song "Die Another Day" and I think it goes really well with the titles.

Mind you, I am NOT a fan of Madonna. I don't own a single one of her albums. I've never seen her in a movie. I know the song is not very Bondian - very pop/dance - but, I hate to admit it - I like this song.

Am I completely alone on this? :(

For some reason, back in 2002 I loved it. It still reminds of a wet saturday afternoon, probably 'cause I always used to watch Die Another Day on a saturday afternoon.

It's an OK song, definately not one of the best, but it's a good song in it's own right. I have to admit that is does fit Die Another Day perfectly though, cheesy, fun and loud. I prefer the rejected song, Beyond The Ice.

I'm going to be the first to post (probably as I'm on pain medication due to a strained knee and I've had two Gin and T's)... :)

but I have two remixes of that on my IPOD and it does get me going...
(hence the strained knee) :(

EDIT: second to post I see... :)

I actually think, overall, the title sequence (both the visuals AND the song AND the fact that the titles contribute to the story), is one of the best among Bond movies.

I really like the title sequence, it's one of Kleinmans best. Actually, I do prefer it over Tomorrow Never Dies and The World is not Enough's, and it's just behind Casino Royale and GoldenEye.

The flame girls intercut with Bond being tortured are very imaginative. :(

I like how he mixes the fire and ice/water.

Yeah. Tell you what else I like, the shot of Bond slowly rising up on his knees, and the projection of a woman pulling him up with her hand. I've always loved that shot. :(

I do indeed really like Madonna's "Die Another Day".

For that matter, I also really like Eon's DIE ANOTHER DAY.

Not a big fan of the song, but I do agree that the title sequence is one of the best ever.

I quite like the dirty vegas mix of the song, actually. I think with a lot of the recent films, it has taken me to see the song mixed with the titles to appreciate it. Especially with "Another Way to Die".

I like Madonna's DAD song!

Oddly enough, when I saw DAD in the cinema, I hated the title song, but now I have it witha couple other Bond songs on my phone, to listen on dull trips.
With the GoldenEye title song, it's exactly the other way round: I liked it at the time, but now I couldn't care less (and yet, I deem it a good song, I just can't explain)

So basically: no, you're not alone on this! :(

The synthesized vocals bug me more now than they did when the movie was released back in 2002. I can listen to the song over the opening credits when I watch the movie but that is the only time I listen to it now. I do like the version that plays briefly during the party scene in the movie (probably because there are no vocals :( ).

I don't like the song attached to the titles or by itself outside of the film, but...

There was this "making of" featurette on one version of the DVD where they showed step-by-step how the title sequence was created, and the extended (and I think instrumental) version of the song that accompanied that footage made it very watchable.

And ultimately I'd still rather listen to the song than watch Madonna in her cameo.

I totally agree and it is one of the few that, of late, even charted.

Hey, after ANOTHER WAY TO DIE, Madonna's DIE ANOTHER DAY certainly moved far up on my--or anyone's--favorite Bond song list.

Modonna's DAD is competing with Keys/White's AWTD for the worst Bond theme ever!

It's about the only thing I don't like about Die Another Day.

I've always kinda liked this tune. The John Barry-esque orchestral stabs in the background would've been great had they actually been implemented into the film's score. Alas.

I tried real hard to like it, but... No such luck. And I'm really open minded where music is concerned (liked AWTD quite a bit). I expected something of a classic from Madonna where she really delivered a very experimental entry. Not my cup of tea, I'm afraid. I was quite happy to hear back then she would do the title song, as I always found her 'Live To Tell' would have made a decent Bond song. But Madonna is an artist who's constantly aiming for provocation, so little wonder she left the beaten path. It just didn't work for me.

What was that about 'Beyond The Ice' being rejected? Never heard about that. Who was supposed to sing that one? Can I find it somewhere?

Encapsulates the splendour of the rest of the film and therefore very fitting.

I like the song, but don't love it. I also think it goes very well with the main titles sequence. Additionally, I don't even mind Madonna's cameo, :( (although I'm glad it was short). And lastly, I like the film Die Another Day.

I like it. Im no real Madonna fan, but she is a talented artist. Think it was a positive to have her do it, at least I heard it on the radio, which was more than can be said for the previous efforts in the Brosnan era

I liked it and still do. I thought seeing Bond tortured at the start was a different beginning we had not seen before. Its one of my favorite credits. And the film had some good moments. Only some.
