P.p.s I dont mean to say Australia is boring 'cause it's the coolest place on earth. (apart from the 007 stage).

I don't know about Australia being one of the coolest places, but I get to climb the Syudney Harbour Bridge! How exciting! :) Can't wait!

Ready to bump this up.

Has this happened already?

And if so, is there another one being scheduled?

Did this international meet up ever occur? How did it go? Is another one planned? I would be jazzed to attend.

So far as I know, it didn't happen, per se; but there have been smaller meet ups, including a few where Bryce has popped across the pond to spend time with the Admiral, Bondian, and others (no slight intended to those not mentioned by name). Additionally, there have been Bryce's own Dare to be Bond (DTBB) in Las Vegas, Nevada in the States. As far as I know, no meet up has occurred in Asia, Africa, or Australia; but I could be mistaken.

Ms Carrington provided the international attendence at DTBB2, while the whole event had a very international theme: Friday alone we were swimming in the Nile, dinner in Bejing, drinks in Red Square!

Hey that's cool. I love Gozo. I never miss spending a week there in Summer during the Santa Marija feast. It's great and the restaurants are fabulous. Some great diving spots. I stay in Xlendi mostly. Love it there and I can climb those beautiful valley cliffs. Hope you enjoy it Pete.

You know, someday, some way, we should all consider one HUGE international meet up.

It would need a good year of advance notice, but wouldn't it be wild?

Although I doubt we could find a pub large enough to handle us all. B)

Bryce, what a genius you are for starting this thread, forgive me for sounding like a slight pessimist, but i take it that much never came of this?

Yes i know my post has come about 8 years too late since this was started, but if anyone else wanted to organise a James Bond fan adventure in London, then I'd be happy to contribute to ideas etc.

To be honest I wouldn't care if it was 5 of us or 500 of us, it would be awesome
plus i know London like the back of my hand :)

cheers

This hasn't been announced yet-- so please forgive me for being a little short on details.

A project team has already been fielded to arrange for a "James Bond Weekend" in conjunction with the "Bond Watches, James Bond Watches" exhibit in Columbia, Pennsylvania. That's where the National Watch & Clock Museum is located. Tentative scheduling is for this coming fall (the exhibit itself runs June 18, 2010, through April 30, 2011).

As Bryce has paid his dues in starting this Thread, it makes sense to me that he be given first right of refusal to act as CBn interface on this - if desired.

...and where would this be?

Okay, here's what we have so far (but not yet for "public" release)--

The National Watch & Clock Museum will be putting on a special "Bond Weekend" in conjunction with the "Bond Watches, James Bond Watches" exhibition. It's located in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania; again, the weekend of September 10, with a pretty full agenda running Friday evening through Saturday evening.

Without going too far out on a limb here, anticipate a good deal of "James Bond lifestyle" content. Prepare to indulge your "competitive" side as well.

We've also made an effort to really try and strike a balance between serving the interests of the Ian Fleming and Eon Productions sides of what attracts folks to the 007 character.

More details to come! B)

Do keep us posted on how things develop. Once it's all finalized with the details, start a new thread and then we (the Team) will get it up as a main pager.

Having certainly done my share of Bond events myself, I know it's no easy chore.

Go for it by all means. B)
