I just watched Mama Mia. SIlly movie and we all cracked up/cringed every time Brosnan sang.

I'm not the biggest Bros fan and can't say I've seen, nor want to see, Mama Mia, but was his performance really that bad? I have to feel for the guy, but maybe he doesn't care and takes it in good spirits.

I did see the Ben Kingsly Love Guru performance and it was definitely the badness of the script.

Admittedly, there is no real pattern to how the Razzies work, but I imagine Brosnan "won" largely due to the fact that one of the world's most prominent action actors had shifted to a largely camp, lightweight musical comedy. His performance (with the exception of his singing) wasn't particularly bad.

The Razzies, like the Oscars, have lost all credibility. The Razzies lost theirs when they started attacking popular films (cause it proves they're not slaves to popular opinion or something). They, like the Academy, are made up of a bunch of film snobs who don't want to necessarily note what the worst things are, but often just the things they deem unworthy of the attention they recieve.

For instance, this year 'Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull' won "Worst Prequel, Remake, Rip-Off or Sequel". Now, regardless of anyone's specific opinion of the film, it was fairly well received (76% "Fresh" at Rotten Tomatoes) and was extremely popular (the number two film world wide - slightly outgrossing 'The Dark Knight' Internationally). Can they honestly say that it is worse than 'Punisher War Zone', which sits at 23% on Rotten Tomatoes and made less than 'Howard the Duck' from 1986? (And that's not adjusted for inflation, it really made less dollars straight up.)

Pierce is in a similar position. He is being punished for moving outside his comfort zone (or more correctly, the reviewer's comfort zone). Of course it's not the worst performance of the year. Just as the best performance often fails to win the Oscar.

Indeed. For playing The Penguin, Danny DeVito was nominated for Worst Supporting Actor at the Razzies. That is a disgrace, the man was fully immersed in the role. I don't see Danny in the movie at all.

Like I said before . . . the Razzie Awards are full of :(. I'm certain that Brosnan will be smart enough not to take it seriously.

He really has sense of humor and Mia is a very successful film so he has no reason to be worried at all. He sang awful indeed and hopefully will not do it again ...
Everyone else in the film was all right especially Meryl and Amanda.
I didn't like Indiana Jones at all. So agree with them on that.
