For example:
Changes I'd make to the film Diamonds Are Forever:
1. Include the Plenty O'Toole scene where she learns Tiffany Case's address
2. Improve the special effects
3. Make it more of a revenge film
or
Actors who I wish had had a stint as Bond:
1. Hugh Jackman
2. Sam Neill
3. Cary Grant
or
Locations I'd like 007 to visit in an adult Bond novel:
1. Sydney, Australia
2. Cape Town, South Africa
3. Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

1) the OMHSS theme becomes the Bond theme
2) K D Lang's "Surrender" for Tomorrow Never Dies title
3) Alice Cooper's version of "The Man with the Golden Gun" instead of Lulu's

-Somebody, anybody writes another version of the Licence to Kill theme song.
-The editors on QOS decide not to pound Red Bulls all night while editing the film.
-Aki doesn't die in YOLT. Who cares about Kissy?
-TMWTGG follows the plot of the book much more. In other words, drop the freaking fun house and solar plex-thingamajig.
-Moonraker...where to being? I don't even know...
-David Arnold joins the Bond franchise on Goldeneye and not 2 years later on TND.
-DAD keeps the tone of the first hour and never goes to Iceland, or has any kind of laser 'with the power of the sun.' I don't know, make the villain smuggle nuclear reactors or something. Better yet, make Bond go back to Korea later in the film and deal with Zao instead Gustav Graves in Iceland.
Places Bond would have gone to:
-Tunisia
-Canada
-The Philippines
-Sewden
That's all I can think of for now.
Great idea for a discussion. I can't wait to see what other have on their minds.

I'd start with Dr No: Oral exposition with Sylvia, full rough sex with Miss Taro. That sort of thing.
I'd have Honour Blackman really living up to her character's name.
Same with Dr Goodhead in Moonraker. Get old Roger really rogered up.
I'd have Deinse Richards really work for her money and have Christmas come several times in TWINE.
Etcetera...
I'd fininsh off with Fields. She comes to a sticky end before coming to a sticky end.

#1. Keep Hunt and Laz for Bond #7, and remake YOLT from the novel. Sadly, they’d probably have to change the title since the whole ‘remake’ thing wasn’t as common as Walgreens, as it is today.
#2. Release John Glen after AVTAK. With Tim Dalton bring in Michael Mann as director offering him an unprecedented Forster-level of control.
(If I only get one of those, it'll be #2)

Seriously now.... have Sir Rog call it a day after FYEO. I love Sir Rog and I know he and Cubby always went around and around when it came to him re-signing, but Sir Rog is BRILLIANT in FYEO and it would have been a terrific swansong for him. (hears on-looking crowd screaming "where's Brozza swansong?

Have a pithier TND. We're now used to uneven gaps between the films, but I really believe TND would have benefitted from more time in script development. My expectations were so high after GE - TND was the only time I've left a Bond and felt really disappointed. I know pretty much everyone else enjoys it but I felt unsatiated. Especially now when I read articles about some of the other script ideas that were discarded.

Ah, yes. Thank you, Mr. Wint. Helpful and acidic as ever. Love having you around.1,2,3... that's all fingers on your hand, minus two.
Of course the thread TITLE is “King for a DAY”, which I took to mean I just had one day in Bond history to be king. Hard to declare executive action for days that have already, or never, occurred, y'know?
But you're right. I misunderstood. I’ll keep my two, and work on a really juicy third finger for you…
What are yours, by the way?

Juicy third finger kinda works for what I had in mind as per first post.
I'm sure Mr Wint wouldn't have it any other way. A dry finger from Mr Kidd would never do.

#2 Quit taking advice from MI6.
#3 Have Bond take out my daughter.

*Remove Michel LeGrand from NSNA
*Remove Halle Berry from DAD.
*Remove the return of Jaws from MR (or at the very least, not allow him to be the side-changing light hearted buffon ala Wil E Coyote)
*Make FYEO (or at the very latest OP), Roger's last Bond film.
*Resolve legal issues so we could have gotten a 3rd and 4th Dalton Bond film.
*Remove "California Girls" from VTAK.
*OHMSS score complete 2 album release in 1969.
I know that's 8 fingers, not three. If forced for 3: top 3. Nothing would please me more than if Serra and Berry (2 losers with double R's in their 5-letter last names--cooincidence) NEVER had the chance to RUIN a Bond film.

Ok, so I've been thinking about my third finger a little, and where I'd like it to point. After having given the Tim Dalton Era at least a fighting chance, and after having killed at least two birds with one stone by overriding DAF with the team and story that had gone before it, I think I will join forces with my friend Plankattack and do my best to ‘fix’ the Brosnan era in one fell swoop.Have everyone love TWINE.....?
Have a pithier TND.
Though I would also prefer a different actor than Brosnan, that’s not the single most effective action that could be taken, I don’t think. I think what needs to be done is to provide some better writing. Writing which realizes the self-destructiveness of peeling layers, writing which can delineate naughty humor from bathroom humor, and writing that focuses on Brosnan’s strength as the Playboy Bond armed to the hilt with Q’s gadgetry and sent out to wreak havoc with villainous plots. Equal parts kiss and bang.
So, there. After GE, I hire a new writer with a guaranteed 3-film contract to construct TND through DAD. Feirstein is out, someone better (???) who can achieve the above goal is in, and I would not allow any serious tampering from outside parties to interfere.

Relax Mr_Wint...It's only one finger.
Yes, but we do like to attempt to keep it a family website.

Here, here. Or hear, hear, whichever it is.
I do get the sense that many people outside of EON got to stick their paws into the process during Brozz's tenure, whether it be casting, suggesting scenes, or inserting theme songs for reasons other than the film (ie. making money!)
So my new wish as king, is to leave Bond to Babs and Mike, and who they decide to hire. And if it be John Glen for five films, then so be it!!!!

-Make Bond to actually use his 1995 BMW's rockets in a car chase.
-Give Q a female assistant whom can interact with Bond the same way Moneypenny did, make Villiers the new Moneypenny, keep Tanner as Staff chief.

Other than that, I don't think I'd want to change much else with the series unless I really sat down and thought about it. More or less, every Bond film has delivered.

2. Had the Tamahori of Once Were Warriors direct DAD.
3. Made at least one of the Gardner books into a film in the 1980's.

Sorry, but I didn't know what to title the thread so I went with King for a day. Maybe I should have said King of the Bond Series. Also, you CAN "declare executive action" for past, present, or future decisions by EON and the literary Bond in this thread.Ah, yes. Thank you, Mr. Wint. Helpful and acidic as ever. Love having you around.1,2,3... that's all fingers on your hand, minus two.

Wished for directors:
1. Alfred Hitchcock -- Would have been great on something like From Russia With Love.
2. John McTiernan -- I've loved most of his stuff. Great action director. Die Hard was freakin' awesome.
3. Steven Spielberg -- Still could possibly happen, but not likely, although I'm sure he'd jump at the opportunity. Now that I think about it, it may not be as far as out there as I thought since he has worked with Craig before (Munich).

1. Make it more of a revenge movie.
2. George Lazenby as Bond.
3. Peter Hunt as the director.
-Licence to Kill:
1. A other director.
2. A much better plot.
That's all actually.
-Quantum of Solace:
1. A better editing.
2. Better filmed action scenes.
3. Longer run time.

1991 - Colonel Sun
starring Sam Neil as James Bond
Bond girl - Polly Walker
directed by John McTiernan
music by James Horner
title song by David Bowie
1993 - The Property of a Lady
starring Sam Neil as James Bond
villian - Jurgen Prochnow
Bond girl - Paulina Porizkova
directed by Philip Noyce
title song by Kim Wilde
2004 - Shatterhand
starring Clive Owen as James Bond
Guntram Shatterhand - Sean Connery

Bond girl - Charlize Theron
title song by Beonce Knowles
I would have liked to have seen these actors given a shot as Bond. The other elements are just ideas. I would have even welcomed bad Bond movies over these gaps just to keep 'em coming!

- Have Sean Connery star in On Her Majesty's Secret Service and then follow that up with a great revenge film as Connery's last film before the role went to Lazenby.
- Have Roger Moore star in a film like Licence to Kill. I think that Roger could have done spectacularly well in that type of film, given the chance to do so.
- Cast Sean Bean in the role of Bond for GoldenEye.

1.1 Failing that, have Lazenby return for the revenge-sequel.
1.2 Failing that, make a better PTS for FYEO, where Blofeld survives and is the main villain.
2. The Property of a Lady, 1991, with Dalton, a different director that would showcase Dalton's charm a bit more, and either Michael Kamen or David Arnold doing the score.
3. GoldenEye with David Arnold and not Eric Serra.

Roger Moore in LTK...that is undoubtedly the most interesting idea I've read in this thread so far tdalton. He would have been too old by then for it to seem believable during the action sequences.
You know what however? Having Moore provide that winning charm of his to infiltrate Sanchez's organization, only to destroy it from within and finally offing Sanchez himself, hence revealing a burning rage that he had kept hidden underneath his wit...I could actually see that as working well. Notwithstanding Moore's age, I think you might be on to something tdalton.

-Have Connery do all the Bonds after TB by the book, with Terence Young directing.
