You are mistaken. The only tracks from the CD are:

3, 8, 9 and 10.

The people who made the CD included them purely because they are longer than the film versions, often by a good couple of minutes. For a better and more thorough listening experience, it was decided that the longer CD versions should be included.

There are no sound effects in the score. Whilst it isnt complete -- and Ive said this a thousand times to people -- it is EXPANDED, i.e. longer than the commercial disc but not complete. Expanded does not necessarily mean complete.

As for The Cat's "salvaging" of this "lost" score, let's just say you clearly dont know the whole story. The score isnt even lost to begin with!

Thanks folks.

The Criterion LDs with isolated music AND FX tracks are only Goldfinger, as far as I know, but I could be wrong. I have fan-made DVD transfers of these LDs and only GF has the ISO on it.

Actually, the DOCTOR NO and GOLDFINGER Criterion discs (original releases) had isolated scores/effects tracks. Basically, these were what is used for foreign dialogue dubbing purposes.

As for the others, LIVE AND LET DIE (Laser) and TOMORROW NEVER DIES (DVD) had isolated scores. Nice, but the volume would go up and down due to the dialogue and/or scene that was scored. Those have since both been, officially and unofficially, released on CD.

As for these 'new' scores being discussed and listed, I still want to know if they are from the back tracks of the laser/DVD releases. Every offer that has appeared seems to use these and lists the scores as 'expanded' (except for TOMORROW NEVER DIES, DIE ANOTHER DAY and CASINO ROYALE).

From all of my searches, I have yet to yield any additional 'real tracks' from a John Barry scored 007 film. They have ALL been either 'back tracks' or re-recordings.

Pity about that.

Gav: How often is an expanded score almost entirely one half of the movie and amost none of the other? I think it's more than coincidence.

If you'll send me the following tracks:
14, 17, 19, 22, 24:

I'm more than happy to apologise and tell everyone how cool the extra tracks are.

On The Cat and TSWLM- the phrase "I'll take what I can get" springs to mind. Thank you Cat :(

Expanded James Bond Scores material has a name: Lukas Kendall.
Anything else is a fake. DOT.

And by the way, this thread should be moved to fan art.

Expanded is a term that is used by underground score collectors all the time. So yes, the official CDs are expanded, but that doesnt mean bootleg CDs with more music on cannot be so-called too.

I have an expanded 2CD set of Basil Poledouris's score to Under Siege II, which is all clean, unreleased music. Its not officially available but its still got more music on than the commercial disc, hence its expanded.

Same goes for the 2CD sets of Van Helsing, Executive Decision, Batman Begins, and many many many many more.

It's not some soundtrack, sure- it's something else- I know that. But it's the closest thing you're gonna get.

Except your score- and you still need to send me those PM's so I can tell the world it's real.

Well I think most of us have the expanded Die Another Day; 2 cds worth including alternate tracks, which became available before the film was even released on DVD, so these things do exist; I'm not sure why everybody's being so aggressive over it.

I love how people know what an audio CD is before even hearing it. Its amazing to think people think my AVTAK CD is a total DVD rip, even though its impossible to get some of those tracks in clean form from the DVD.

It's not some soundtrack, sure- it's something else- I know that. But it's the closest thing you're gonna get.

Now you're talking in riddles lol. "Its not some soundtrack, its something else. A soundtrack is a CD of music, is it not?

How little you know... Do you know how this bootleg of yours was sourced? I do, I was told about it many many months ago. Its not from studio master tapes, I can tell you that much.
