I just want an honest to goodness Bond film. Casino Royale felt that way. QoS did not. After watching QoS, I had the same feeling in the pit of my stomach after watching Roland Emmerich's Godzilla film. "That wasn't Godzilla". Only, this time I said "That wasn't Ian Fleming's James Bond 007...where was Ian Fleming's James Bond 007?"
Marc Forster was simply the wrong pick for director. If they choose someone with even the slightest experience in doing action films, it'll be a huge improvement over QoS on that merit alone.
And yes, QoS had an impressive debut, but that was due mostly to anticipation and excitement leading off the strength of Casino Royale. Notice how the second week saw a massive 59% plunge from the first week. Much greater than Casino's second week plunge (24%, I believe it was). Casino had legs, whereas QoS will disappear from theaters much sooner. This will hopefully send a signal to producers that the decisions they made on this film weren't the kind to produce box-office longevity. I saw CR 3 times in theaters. With QoS, one time was MORE than enough and I don't wish to see it again anytime soon.
