Well out of the 2, I went with the minority and voted for QOS. Only very slightly above CR though. Both are decent films, but neither are among my favourites, and both are difficult to rank in the bond cannon due to being different kinds of films (to the rest that is, not to each other).

They're very close for me, but the reason I choose QOS is because it just didn't drag as much, plus I love the burning building climax.

I wish there was a "Second half of Casino Royale" option... Having to get through Madagascar and Miami first is not fun in my opinion.

I frequently find myself starting the movie at the train scene and watching the rest from there.

I love every minute of Casino Royale and I have ever since I first saw it in 2006. Rewatching it now, I can definitely see that there are some pacing issues here and there (sometimes a result of them following the Fleming novel too closely, sometimes the exact opposite) but it's altogether an amazing film that re-ignited the franchise as serious espionage action and not silly fluff.

Quantum of Solace was for all intents and purposes, an interesting failure. It's still a good, enjoyable Bond film, but in so many ways it just doesn't cut the mustard in the ways that CR did, above and beyond the call of duty. Craig almost single-handedly saves the film and cements himself as possibly the Best Bond Ever (even more like the Fleming version than Dalton - in some respects, anyway) and is even more of a joy to watch than he was before.

Roll on Skyfall.

This is like asking whether someone prefers Star Wars or The Phantom Menace, or Raiders of the Lost Ark or Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. It's not even a contest.

Hopefully the addition of SKYFALL into the mix will make this a closer run contest.

My vote's been deleted, Skyfall's definitely my new favourite Craig movie for sure, though I want to view it a second time before I make any bold statements about it being the best Bond film ever etc.

Still, it deserves it!

I guess I'll have to wait until Skyfall arrives in the US. For now I'll live vicariously through you guys and wikipedia. Yes, I sometimes read the endings to things first but in this case, I really want to see the movie NOW! ;)

Since I've only seen 2, I should be voting Casino Royale, but I want to wait until after I see Skyfall tomorrow. Either I'll be so blown away by the new one that I'll vote for it, or I will be disappointed and still vote for CR after all.
I guess my reasoning would be that without CR, there would have been no Skyfall.

Ah, the agony of choice! In spite of the update of the poll, and that SF really is, I think, a great addition to the Bond series, I'm not changing my vote. CR is still my favourite, albeit marginally ahead of SF.

It will be interesting to see how this poll plays in 2016, when, probably, we will be debating and voting on which one of five Craig films is best. If 24 & 25 are as good as their predecessors it will be a close contest.

My initial reaction to SF was a 4.5 / 5 as opposed to the solid 5 that I gave CR. My second viewing of SF saw me revise this and SF is now a solid 5. I gave QoS a 3.5 - many people go overboard about how bad this film is. It's not, it just has a few flaws. I'd rather watch QoS than LTK, AVTAK, DAD or TMWTGG for example.

I now prefer SF to CR, but both are outstanding.

I love Casino Royale. I like Quantum. I absolutely love Skyfall. So Skyfall it is.

After Casino I thought that there will never be as good Bond movie as Casino was. Well, I was wrong.

IMO Skyfall goes on top 5 of all Bond films. I really haven´t decided the films from 2. to 5. The best ever is OHMSS. The other films are FRWL, CR, SF and FYEO.

Plus Quantum washes floors with "classics" like AVTAK, MR, DAF, TMWTGG... although TMWTGG has sir Christopher Lee, one of the best villains in the series.

Wow damn. I can't wait to see this movie now, if it is only better than 3 Bond movies that are classics.

No.

Probably won't see it for some time. I also figured that QOS was going to get beat down pretty good in the poll, given the overwhelming distaste for it here, so it gets my vote again (it is my second favorite Bond film, after all, behind LTK). If SF beats it, I'll delete my vote and change it to SF, but based on the trailers and what I know of the film, I have a hard time believing that it will happen. Hope it does, but we'll see.

I must admit, I think I might defer for a while. All three are very high in quality for me. I'm veering towards CR but the other two are right up there. Yes, seriously, I love QOS too. I think it's massively underrated.

Re-casting my vote for QOS, the precision instrument of Bond movies. CR follows right after it, in all its flashy but deadly glory. Glad to see enthusiasm for Skyfall, though, hopefully it powers the Craig era to three or four more excellent installments!

tdalton: Given how often you and I are on the same page (my top two are also QOS and LTK, with CR and TLD close behind), I can say with confidence that Skyfall won't top the other Craigs in your estimation -- but you will absolutely love the finale, starting from when Bond decides to "get ahead of" the villain once and for all, all the way through to the credits. Don't blame you for staying away from it on opening weekend, though, given the state of the movie theater experience nowadays.
