Sounds like somebody's in harm's way of receiving a humble pie to the face, eh? :(

On my previous post, I meant no disrespect to Pierce - Daniel, but I was skeptical. Anyway, thanks for clearing it all up Bueno.

Maybe, maybe. It's always been up in the air, and of course my judgment has always been subject to re-evaluation as new info pours in.

At any rate, the new info still doesn't entirely match with the way that the IMDb article describes it. The IMDb article paints the scene thusly: "When Mathis dies and Bond kills the guys who did it, he's actually *beep* pissed and very upset, he wants to look after Mathis as the pair had bonded by this point, but Camille just wants to go to the desert and tail Greene, telling Bond to 'leave the body', but Bond ain't having none of that *beep*." Doesn't quite sound like the scene we just heard, where Bond seems to put on a very cold front (even dumping the body in the dumpster), and there's only a sneaky moment that Camille doesn't catch. But it's not necessarily a contradiction, either, since the overall scene could come off differently than just that brief script page.

I'm sticking to my theory that the IMDb chap got some info about the film, enough to falsify a review, without getting all of it. Thus portions of the IMDb review are indeed accurate, but others aren't quite true. But hey - if the IMDb review is all true, I'm happy. For the most part, I liked what I read. I just don't necessarily think all of it matches up. As more info pours in, we'll definitely get a better sense of what's going down.

I loved everything about the imdb review... except for the ending. I don't want Bond to leave the service or Olga to die.

I ronically that is one of my faves from the imdb review but considering the soundtrack listing I think we will get similar but different.

after all the track is titled

"I never left"

Agreed. The IMDB guy might have seen a first draft or an incomplete cut.

Not to be rude but, yes, this is in Bond on Set but Pierce-Daniel has TOTALLY miscontrued the page of script we glimpse.

Honestly, Pierce-Daniel's mistakes are understandable as the page is absolutely tiny, blurred and scribbled on and I had real trouble reading it myself. But nothing in that page indicates that Bond had Mathis killed and the exchange regarding money is from later on and is in reference to Bond bribing the owners of the DC3 plane. He gives the plane owners all the money he and Camille have with them to take the plane.

I'll do my best to transcribe what I could read on the page. The script page in Bond on Set covers two different scenes:

Top half of the page / First Scene:
This part is obviously just after Mathis is shot. Camille tells Bond they should hide the body in a dumpster. Bond deposits him in the dumpster but also leans over to take his wallet and the money inside. What's even more interesting is that Bond touches Mathis gently after he does this (according to the script directions) which Camille cannot see as she is standing a distance behind him. Bond also says something at this point which I can't read but I think it says something like he (Mathis) wouldn't have wanted them to get caught. Bond wipes the blood off his shirt and hands and goes back to the car.

The script directions have Camille staring after Bond and at the blood after he takes the money from Mathis' dead body. She is obviously pretty shocked; the direct quote from the script directions is that this is: "even cold by her standards". I thought this was interesting as Camille obviously thinks after this that Bond is a stone-cold bastard having not seen the tenderness with which he handled Mathis

Second half of the page/ Second Scene:
"How much did you give them?" to which Bond replies "everything we had"and goes on to say which he will no doubt double when he... (I can't read this part due to the page quality) but I assume Bond says something like when he turns us in, betrays us or something similar.

I'm very very sorry but time for me to eat a slice of that humble pie. In my rush to correct Pierce-Daniel and after much peering and squinting at the page realised I made a couple of major mistakes of my own.

- Camille doesn't suggest the dumpster (on this particular page, anyway). She actually says"We should take him to a hospital or morgue" before Bond takes him to the dumpster.
(I think this will particularly please Harmsway as it does throw doubt on the IMDB review :( )

- I think I overstated the "gentleness" with which Bond handles Mathis's body after seeing some of the other posters comments. The script direction just says that he gently puts the body in the dumpster, I'm guessing as opposed to dumping it like rubbish. But nothing about closing Mathis' eyes or anything.

- Bond wipes the blood off his hands, but ignores the blood on his shirt.

- It's a caretaker not the plane owner who Bond bribes for the DC-3.

- I think that last line is "Everyhing we had. Which he will double when he sells us out"

The page is very hard to read so I've probably made some other mistakes. Does anyone else have the book? What do you think?

Of course, this could be an unused or old script as I find it odd that they would re-produce it in the book.

P.S. I've edited my previous post.

It's little things like the Mathis issue that are making me more and more excited for the movie, rather than the more traditional draws such as the action scenes. I kinda like it.

I totally agree. This movie is packing plot.
