but somehow I sat down to watch QOS knowing that Mathis would die, Fields would be drowned in oil in a Goldfinger homage, Bond had Mr. White in his trunk all through the car chase, who Yusuf was, the gunbarrel was at the end, and various other stuff

I spent all of last year on here, but all of those things were a surprise to me.

Hmm, somehow I think I managed to avoid all of that bar Fields drowning in oil (which I think I forgot while I was watching the movie) and the gunbarrel coming at the end of the film. I was just lucky I guess.

I got the surprise that was intended watching Casino Royale. I had forgotten that Felix Leiter was going to be in it. I had no idea who Jeffrey Wright was. And so when he grabs Bond's arm and tells him who he is, it was the genuine surprise for me that the audience was supposed to get from the moment.

Which was nice.

I saw the same thing happen in the theater, when watching QOS. As Bond fans, we sometimes forget that most of the audience go in with virtually no knowledge of what they're going to see. So I was pleasantly surprised to hear a few murmurs of acknowledgement when Mathis first appeared on screen.

I won't be staying spoiler free. When it comes to Bond, I just have to know.

I'm going to try and stay spoiler-free, but no doubt I'll be too tempted to read them anyway!

I succeeded in staying almost spoiler free for Quantum of Solace, and it was really great discovering it entirely.

So I intend to stay far away from spoilers, even it means not going on forums and avoiding informations of all type. It's hard, but the result does worth it !
