Looks like the film got a great review by the studio who is taking advantage of Harry Potter moving.

Here's a quote:

We saw the film recently in London and Marc Forster, Daniel Craig and the entire team at EON have truly delivered another extraordinary Bond adventure,” said Jeff Blake, Chairman of Worldwide Marketing and Distribution for the Columbia Tristar Motion Picture Group. “Quantum of Solace is a seamless continuation of the storyline that began with the last film. We believe November 14th is a great date that allows us to play straight through Thanksgiving and right into Christmas. The Bond films have a long history of entertaining audiences in this holiday corridor going back to Goldeneye in 1995. The studio enjoyed tremendous success opening Casino Royale in North America on November 17, 2006, and we believe this decision will give the public a wider opportunity to see the film over the holiday.”

You... Poor, POOR American people. I guess you will have to wait yet another week. I bet England is going to have a slight increasment of yanks come October, wanting to see the movie early. :(

But I love this one...
EON have truly delivered another extraordinary Bond adventure

Hang on, if they film has been seen and reviewed, does this mean that Arnold has completed the soundtrack, or did they watch the whole movie with default music?

Ahhh...not too bad I guess. At least now there will be no repeat of Happy Feet since Madagascar 2 has the weekend to its self now. With no Potter even better, this has a very good chance of being the top grosser this fall. Mark my words, this will be the first Bond movie to crack $200 million+!! :(

I can see that the UK release date might be moved back now to the original Nov 7th. There isnt any way that they would have a TWO week difference in between the US and the UK.

Royal premiere stays the same date.

Well said. Is the spin beginning...or is the film a ten? We'll all know a week later now. They promised me they'd open the damned thing on my birthday!

I can't imagine that it won't be pushed back in the UK also, seeing as Potter is just as big (probably bigger) there as it is in the States.

Ah well. I'm a little disappointed but if they think it's better for the film's box office then I'm all for it. I want QUANTUM to do as well possible and I trust that the studio have their heads on straight.

It would be very rare for a Royal event to be rescheduled as the "Royal Movement" calender is very tight, so I dont think we have to worry. :(

007.com website still lists Nov 7th as the US release date. I know I'm just thinking hopefully, I'm sure it will change.

Is anyone else tired of the musical chairs they've been playing with the release date?

Like I said, don't keep your hopes up. The North American release change is the only one that has been officially announced so far simply because it's the biggest market.

Expect most of the territories to get pushed back also. The closer you can push the film back to the holiday the better... why would Sony keep that exclusive to America? It would benefit everywhere.

Just because there isn't any official notification of other releases changing yet doesn't mean it's not gonna happen. Like someone else said, the official website still hasn't even updated the North American release.

What about here in Australia? It's November 27th here! If it gets put back to December, that will be as bad as Casino Royale (Dec 7th).

And increasement is my word of the day. I think influx is the right word there.

I thought that was supposed to come out in November. Somehow I always managed to overlook it on the release date list. So that is a plus.

That's a minus, along with the bootlegs that will probably already be online for a week and half by the time of the US release.

You won't be able to dodge spoilers on here. I avoid CBn completely for 4 weeks between the UK release and the Aussie one.

Darn it! I haven't seen any other movie sites mention this so I hope it's not true, but knowing my luck it is! :( Oh well, it's a b-day present for my best friend. A new tradition starting since Casino Royale is to take him to see the latest Bond flick and his birthday is the 14th of November, close enough.

Variety and ComingSoon.net are both reporting it. It's legit.

I think the film was only opening aganist Madagascar as if it opened a week later it would only have a matter of days before the Potter juggernaught swooped in. QOS was unlikely to get the top spot on Nov 7th weekend anyway. This way the movie will prove a bigger money spinner as nothing really opens that week.
The press release says the film will still get its Oct 31st release date in the UK, but I wouldn't be unmoved if it did change.

I work in marketing, and I GET it, but this is harsh to us North Americans. TWO bloody weeks, I have to avoid board reviews, bootlegs everywhere, basically the internet in general. This just plain sucks. Not that I don't realize it's still about a week earlier than it usually is but....man, oh man. This could be tough:(.

Welcome to my world, every Bond movie!!! It's 4 weeks of avoiding spoilers for us Down Under, and I'm British! I should get a special shipment on October 31st for me and my British counterparts!!
