I think that this new look to the gunbarrel sequence could turn out to be quite good. The pictures of it look very promising so far.

Yes (I've merged your thread into this already existing one, BondJamesBond007).

And welcome to the CBn Forums, by the way.

Is this fan art or did you somehow get the actual gun barrel?

Part of me wishes they would just relase the gunbarrel now. Not the whole film just the most iconic and trivial part. :(

They could, as some sort of teaser for the fans. Ohh wishful thinking. :(

I would rather wait untill the cinema to see it. Though if it is released.... i'd probably spoil it for myself. :(

Right I can indeed confirm that the gunbarrel is back.

BUT... I don't think we will get the 'walk'

Look at these:

It looks like he will stand with his back to the audiemce, turn round, get his gun out and shoot.

I think that Craig probably will be walking across the screen, turns and shoots. Also it doesn't have to recreate how the gun barrel was presented in Casino Royale.

Yes I like the new version! It's great! But where the hell does Bond have his gun? He's like a cop on the second pic! :(
Anyway, you're the man Matthew!

I guess it would look a bit ridiculous for him to pull it out of his shoulder holster. I can't remember if he ever wore a belt holster in the books.

Bond wore a chamois leather shoulder holster in the first few books until Dr No when the armourer and M changed his equipment and he then always wore an inside waistband (IWB) holster. In the books it was a Berns-Martin triple draw, though I believe this was only designed for revolvers in reality.

I like Bonds use of an IWB now, though a shot of him in a shoulder holster would be good.

I could totally see the scrolling gunbarrel come to rest on Bond walking away from the POV and then whipping around unexpectedly to shoot, and the rest progressing as usual.

Although, the question of how he would "sense" the gun being trained on him is still up in the air.

I might be all alone on this, but I wish the gunbarrel sequence would actually be in B&W, like these photos. I doubt it will be, but I love that B&W look. Makes it look more timeless, and throws back to the early films.

This will obviously be the best gunbarrel sequence in bond history. The kind of ancient dusty camera is a good addition.

Look at the picture with bonds back to the camera you can see the contrast of black and white, with the lens abit out of date, and dusty.

I'm with you on that one my friend. Actually I wouldn't mind a Black&White gunbarrel sequence at all, it would be very cool thing to see...

That would be the poor quality of the scan.

1. What Design would you like for the Gunbarrel itself?

I really loved the casino royale gunbarrel design because it was nice and clean, but i didn't like the reflection. Take the reflection out and it was the best design

2. What would you like Craig to wear in the Gunbarrel?

The suit he wore at the end of Casino Royale. It doesn't matter what the color is because it's in black and white

3. What Music would you like for the Gunbarrel?

THE James Bond Theme, and a traditional loud, brassy sound. :(

4. How would you like to see the Gunbarrel to play out?

Same as old; I don't think he should make a full pivot; pivot a little more than roger moore did. There should be a little knee bend.
5. What blood would you like to flow down the screen?

Casino Royale blood all day!!!! :)

I remember. 17th November 2006. I was sitting in the cinema watching a Lion roar in a CG logo. Only one thing wrong, it was black and white. I said to my dad, Is there a fault with the projector, why is it B&W. Then when i saw the movie did not open with a gunbarrel, instead with a B&W shot of prauge, I thought to myself, oh god we must be in the wrong theater. No Gunbarrel. Then I recognised some shots from the trailer and eventually saw Daniel Craig. Now I knew this was Casino Royale. Still though I thought to myself, why no Barrel? Then eventually I could see it comming. I knew as soon as I saw that guy get up there would be one. But not so familiar. Bond swivels not walks. the barrel was completely different. The Blood ran down in rivulets, not in a curved way. You could still tell it was the Barrel though. There was an Outbreak on the Internet that night about the CR gunbarrel. What does Quantum of Solace hold? Director Mark Forster and Producer Micheal G. Wilson have alreaddy confirmed there will be a more tradition barrel in QOS but what excactly will it look like, im eager to find out and I'm sure you are too.

I arranged something a little modern and verry stylish in the form of a James Bond gunbarrel in my Movie Editing program. ( yes it stars me as bond and not craig ) Perhaps it could look something like this.
( THE BARREL IS IN THE LINK BELOW! ) If you guys have any potential QOS Barrels i would love to see them. Please look at mine and thanks for reading :(
EDIT - There was an error uploading it so i uploaded it to YouTube:

So now when some people have already seen the film. What happens? Do we get the dots? The walk? Is the Brosnan design re-used? Has someone mentioned anything about this?
