You guys are in rare form here. I haven't even seen the trailer--as a proper virgin--and I'm lovin' The New Line. What are your best guesses--by Haggis or the new guy?

Could You've Stripped Me of My Armor Haggis conceivably have come up with such tripe?

Actually, "you've stripped me of my armour" was a Purvis & Wade line, which makes the way Dan and Eva acted out the scene all the more impressive.

As for the "inconsolable rage" line, well, since Paul Haggis had no idea what Quantum of Solace meant after the press release and the line is obviously meant as a title reference, I'm going to say... Joshua Zetumer.

I would have cut the word "inconsolable." Makes the sentence unwieldy and artificial. Feels "written."

Agree. It's very literary.

But as mentioned, sadly enough M has been talking a bit like that for a while.

What I don't get is how they could get M mostly right in her first scene of Casino Royale, where she spoke very frankly and seemed to shoot from the hip, only to drop the ball so badly later on.

With the exception of a few moments of brilliance in LTK, I don't think there's been a great M since 1979. We sorely need one, and I think Craig's Bond deserves one.
