I'm guessing he's angry because Vesper was forced to deceive him and was driven to suicide by Mr White et al.

Yeah, I'd go with both of the above, unless the quote in the trailer is taken out of context and it actually refers to something that transpires later in QUANTUM OF SOLACE.

He was generally made to look like a chump in Casino Royale, including being betrayed (as far as he knows) by both Vesper and Mathis. I'd say that's enough to become pissed off and start distrusting everyone in your organization.

I think that he's angry, because he was deceived by Vesper. I don't think that he gave a damn about her death. Besides he would have killed her if she hadn't suicided! Am I right?

Not so sure, aris. I think his moment of "Allow me," was an irrational rage moment. He didn't really want her to die. Why else would he have tried so hard to save her from the submerged elevator?

Anyway, referring to the original post, I think it's a combination of being angry both over Vesper's betrayal and over the fact that she was basically forced into that situation. Also, I think he's still so bitter over the affair that he wonders if she ever really loved him as much as he loved her. In any case, he holds Quantum responsible, as did the literary Bond with SMERSH, and he's out to crush them.

I'm pretty jazzed about it, myself.

No, I don't think Bond really would have killed Vesper. As 00Twelve says, I think the "allow me" comment was just a fit of rage. In the greater scheme of CASINO ROYALE, I think Bond would have been able to see the "bigger picture", and brought Vesper in for questioning had he had the opportunity.

Yeah, It's just an expression. Like If I say "If you dont turn up, I'll kill ya"... It wont mean i'll actually kill you if you didn't turn up, It will just mean that I will be really angry. So basically, Bond is saying that he is really, really, REALLY angry with Vespers betrayal.

Probably both...anger is usually replaced by grief.

That "rage" sentence to me means that he is now defined a loose cannon to the Service, as we will get to see. M then tries to restrict his movements because of this uncontrolled "rage".

Maybe by the end of the flick, we'll see him in the "acceptance" mode (or not which might propel the third film).

Usual stuff.

Personally, I haven't got a clue whether he meant it, or not. Which suggests to me that that bit of dialogue should have been chopped out.

That clunky "blinded by inconsolable rage" line is pretty awful, too. Nobody (with the possible exception of Brian Sewell) speaks like that. They would have been better off changing it to something that sounds like it might've actually come out of somebody's mouth.

I think it is something M would say, old school and all that. We are now so used to speaking and texting in shorthand that using big words has started to sound too convoluted.

Completely agreed. The word doesn't feel particularly natural when it's used the way that it's used in the trailer. The line would have been much better without it.
