These lists are always bollocks, the fact Titanic is there just proves my point, it's like seeing Star Wars in the 100 best films of all time, of course it's not but it always is in there high or at no 1.

You may not like Titanic and I'm not a fan either, but you can't deny its place in the last 25 years, which this list is devoted to. The thing was a cultural phenomenon. As was Star Wars. And you have to admit both were well made films as well as being entertaining enough to reap millions. Can't recall Star Wars ever topping any lists.

These are new classics, a redefined list for a new generation. Personally, I am tired of having Citizen Kane pushed in my face as the greatest film ever made. I was on a bus trip a couple of weeks ago and somebody put on a DVD of Singing in the Rain and I was stunned that anybody considers it a classic. So it just shows the definition of "classic" varies for some.

I have no problem with Casino Royale being on the list. It was a very succesful reboot wich made people respect Bond again. But where is that other reboot of another franchise which made many people get interested in super heroes? I don't see it on the list...

I have no problem with CR on this list.
I wouldn't compare this to other classics below it. Masterpieces like Schindler's List are often hard going. What would you prefer watching after a hard long day at work, Schindler's List or CR. Although if you want to be deeply moved by a Film and have it affect you, you would choose the former.

I see CR as variety and in the same genre on this list as Bourne Supremacy and Die Hard. I prefer CR to both those films. But LOTR Fellowship of the ring(The all out greatest film in 25 years) would be No 1 for me, not Pulp Fiction. So its all about taste.

Very interesting list, but when a compilation of the last 25 years of cinema fails to include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, FORREST GUMP, THE USUAL SUSPECTS or RESERVOIR DOGS, I struggle to take it seriously.

I'm just thinking about this even further and so many more movies I would call "great" are coming to mind as being missing from the list... THE GREEN MILE, SE7EN, MYSTIC RIVER... I know these lists are very subjective, but this certainly is a strange one!

I think all of us could name another dozen films we'd like to see on the list, but who cares? The point is, a group of their writers voted for which films are modern classics and CR made it! That's incredibly cool.
