Listen, go look at Dr No, From Russia With Love and Goldfinger and you'll see Machismo Sean wearing lipstick, eyeliner and taning solutions. Let's not forget the hair piece. All in the name of tinsletown!
So, you old codgers, leave Daniel alone!
Now, where's Zorin? We need the tag-team of Zorin and dee-bee getting their heads in on the act.
As per, some people are missing the point of what was said before. No-one is suggesting that Daniel Craig's Bond would be gay. I just believe that the new direction and cultural and sexual climate facilitates a notion that James Bond the spy could toy with a man for information. I don't mean he is going to go down on him and let the Golden Gun meet the GoldenEye by any stretch, just that Daniel Craig as 007 allows the character to do that. Craig's Bond is not Connery when it comes to the character being a bit 1950's over, say, nudity. Craig's Bond in that torture scene had no qualms about another male character seeing him butt nekked. Granted, the narrative doesn't allow Bond much choice (he is captured and tied up, after all), but how many other scenes have we scene Bond naked with another man in a confined space (and TIGER TANAKA's hot tub doesn't count as they were both surrounded by female lovelies). I'm not suggesting an alternative reading to ROYALE's torture scene, just suggesting that this screen Bond is a step towards a different sort of on-screen masculinity - and not just in the confines of the Bond series.
The Next Bond should be a Wheelchairbound Black Deaf-Mute Muslim Lesbian. That would cover a few of the bases!
Gay culture in cinema is not about covering bases. Not when you realise just how and why the entertainment business and cinema has been built on the shoulders of such supposed 'minorities' who need their boxes ticked.
