Really? Maybe instead you should be telling them about how good Headison is?

Ugh. I gotta go...

You need religion, sir. Go to church and praise the Lord. Jack Lord, that is.

Wow. That joke sucks...

Going with my gut, it's gotta be Bernie Casey, for all of the reasons previously noted. My favorite line from him was the "Ha! Algernon, right? I had the first one, and it blew up in MY face!"

Classic!

Don't know all that much about Jack Lord, but if the comments on him being too big-headed for Leiter is true, then the guy must have been a massive jack-hole. He was also considered for the role of Captain James Kirk of Star Trek - until he demanded 50% ownership rights for the show!

Needless to say, William Shatner thanks Mr. Lord, RIP. Well, I guess things caught up with Lord, as in his final days, he suffered from advanced Alzheimer's and could be seen wandering the beaches of Hawaii, not recognizing any of his good friends he'd come across.

He had good hair, though...

The thing about Jack Lord is he looks like a hard case as well. An american agent doing a similar job to Bond. Shame he only did one.

I'm not sure what amazes me more - that no one has voted for Burton or Terry, or that someone HAS voted for Linder.

The beauty of CBNers - we can all claim to be Bond fans, and yet appreciate it in different ways.

I voted for Jack Lord, although I'm a big fan of van Nutter's portrayal. I always thought the reason Felix was kept at arms length and never consistently played by the same actor was because the producers didn't want to emphasise another character at Bond's expense!

I liked Jeffery Wright, but it's way too early for me to judge him on the brief moments he appeared in Casino Royale!

My list right now is probably:

Wright
Hedison
Casey
Lord

Very close together. All great. The rest are "meh." Not much middle ground when it comes to being Felix Leiter, it seems.

I went with Lord, as I feel he is the original and the best.

But I am also a fan of Hedison and Wright.

I voted for Bernie Casey, which may seem an off-choice, but I thought that of all the Felixes, he was the one who (1) seemed most physically capable, and so functioned as a real peer of Bond's, (2) caught something of the easy-going charm of the Felix of the books, and (3) had a real rapport with Bond. I thought Casey and Connery had a couple of nice moments of give-and-take in NSNA, and I really believed they were old friends. It helped that they had more action scenes together than any of the other Bond/Felix combos, so they came across as teammates.

I echo your post almost word for word. Go Bernie!

I voted for Jack Lord since I've become a big Hawaii 5-0 fan lately. Also, of all the Leiters, he came the closest to being a Bond equal. David Hedison is a close 2nd and used to be my fave but I'm picking McGarrett. :(

The orginal is the best.

I can't remember Bernie Casey, haven't watched NSNA for a long time.

Jeffrey Wright.

After watching CR recently, I can't say I really understand all the claims that Wright is the best. Good Actor? Certainly. Good performance? Yes. Memorable? No.

I realise the same could be said of all but three or four Leiters, but still, what does make the one performance we've seen so far so great?

I voted Wright. Hedison is a close second, and that's who I think of when I read Leiter in the books. But I watched CR last night and Wright's delivery is SO good.

"Much appreciated, brother."

Boom.

Oof! We'll have to agree to disagree on this one.

I chose Jack Lord. He looked the part and was the essence of CIA cool next the Sean Connery, who was the essence of cool, period.

I am curious to see what Wright does in QOS however.

As much as I love Jack Lord...theres something about Wright that grabs me. New, but classy. He's got the right mixture of feeling for it. And hes a superb actor!! I do believe he has stole the top title from Lord...Wright is perfect for our time,
