P-D, my comments were tounge in cheek! If the trailer is with us by the morning then so be it, it will only make matters worse in a way because we then know that we have to wait until the end of October to see the final product! My point is.....I'm not going to lose any sleep over it so am off to bed Please don't shut up though, this is after all a discussion forum!

Screw it let's keep this trailer going till 2009 Eventually by that point the trailer has to be released right. I mean Unless the Quantum of Solace trailer will be attached to The Hildebrand Rarity (bond 23).

Yeah, I like that idea QoS! Let's be unconventional...... let's compare the actual film with the trailer as opposed to the usual way round and see whether they did actually take out a good snapshot! We may be on to a winner there!

It seems some people on here were working up into a bit of a frenzy about a trailer coming out this week. It reminded me of all the excitement on here when the press conference was announced and 2 of our members discovered the title.

I am sure when the trailer does make its way onto here (possibly via a French route), there will be a lot of excitement on here!

Until then, we just have to sit and wait.

It's coming because in one month, all the punters will be out of the loop and the teaser will not make it's mark. They need to issue the teaser NOW and the trailer in september in order to build up anticipation. So far, the interest in QOS is about to drop, no one except us care about these blog posts.

I think EON is doing the right thing. We have just 2 days to Euro 2008 and the trailer wont get too much attention a few days later. I support July 2. Just 3 days after the competition is over.

I agree. I think that July 2 is a great time to release a trailer. I think that the main reason that we got the trailer for CR so early was that EON wanted to get some positive buzz about the film out there because there was so much negativity surrounding the casting of Daniel Craig and the film in general, so the quicker they put out a good trailer the quicker they got some good publicity on their side. This time around, though, they now have a Bond actor that is very popular in the role, and that incentive of turning around any negative publicity by releasing a trailer early is no longer there.

Surprise, surprise...there isn't a trailer! Am I disappointed, no not really, will it change my day....no not really! Yet another day of rain here in the UK! Won't stop me checking the internet once or twice though!!!!

Not sure Eon/Sony are particularly bothered about Euro 2008, not really sure who is here in the UK, as we didn't qualify and the USA are not part of Europe so are also not involved, and as they are filming in Pinewood at the meoment I suspect that it has little bearing on the release of the trailer. Obviously the consolation for not getting through could be the release of the trailer

Obviously, if we are picking dates out in July...the 4th is always a good one for US fans and will obviuosly get a lot of press etc.

What we really need is someone who knows someone who knows someone else who may know what is going on!

Because it didn't come ot last week. Or the week before that. We know Forster has seen the trailer, so therefore it's done, and people have taken that as a sign that it will be here soon. This thread was created two weeks ago, asking if it would appear in the net seven days, which it didn't. But there was always the possibility that it wold show up from days 8-14, which obviously never happened. So now there's hope that it will come out between days 15 and 21.

The point is that people have had enough with waiting and want the trailer, so they're looking for something to suggest that it will come out sooner than expected. We've seen some pretty solid evidence that it will be released with Hancock on July 2nd, but because the Sony-distributed You Don't Mess With The Zohan is coming out two weeks earlier, there's the notion that it will happen then.

But here's the catch: we will know for certain if it's attached to Zohan some time within the next twenty-four hours. While it film is released on the 6th of June in America, it comes out two days earlier in Iceland, and not until the 15th of August in the UK. Sony will be aiming for a worldwde release of the trailer, so the money is on Hancock because Will Smith's film is released over the course of several days (as opposed to several months) in all the major territories.

A source close to the production has just told me that the trailer will NOT be released today!

a). I have not spoken to a source BUT . it may stop us panicing and losing what marbles we still retain. Apparently this works for children so what's to say it won't work with us!

I suppose I should reply to all of this. All I can say is my source knows more about the industry then I do about these things and I tend to know some. Not to bust any bubbles, but there are situations where trailers are ready and then they are pulled for any of a number of reasons, but again my source has always been right on this stuff. This is all I can really say about it.

I have visions of Mikey and Babs in a big HQ Comms building with a team of computer tapping boffins. And Mikey stating "People, I want the name and real time location of his source"

Still July 2 is OK. Sooner would be better though.

Ok guys, just got soaked again and had an idea...! As this is worse than a very long car journey when you were a kid......why don't we have a global game of "I Spy" while we are waiting! That will keep us occupied! I just hope nobody says "something beginning with "T"!

They put the trailer for CR out in May 06 because they had a compatible film to show it with - The Da Vinci Code, which was Sony's biggest film of the year and was opening simultaneously worldwide.

Everyone's overthinking this. I'm sure the decision was made in about ten seconds at the Sony marketing department : "Hey when shall we put out the Bond trailer? What big movies have we got coming out? The Will Smith thing? Yeah, put it in front of that. Let's do some coke."

Everybody cool, it's only a movie trailer

An interesting piece of information: the German version of the teaser has not yet been dubbed (and it's certainly intended to be available on the same day as the English version), which means that we won't get to see anything in the next few days. Makes late June/early July and Hancock more and more likely.
