Bond is gambling with a pack of Hitler Youth on a train in Austria. They think he's cheating because he keeps winning. Things get...tense.

Thanks for the response! Sounds like an interesting little scene...

It's a great little extract. Bond's character is noticeably more tough and fearless, he even seems to enjoy the altercation when it becomes physical. The events of Hurricane Gold seemed to have had an effect on him. I think there's even a specific reference to this.In another thread where I asked the same question, zencat said:

This all already sounds very promising so far. Young Bond and Moneypenny Diaries have done spectacularly well in keeping the Bond flag flying, and against astronomic odds. Really a treat that IFP has run the risks to give us these two fine series. A well deserved success and I'm sure many fans and casual readers alike would welcome further adventures.

Is that a new newsletter? I didn't get one (I didn't think they were still doing these). Can you forward it to me, sharp? Thanks. (I'll PM my email.)There's a little image on the bottom left hand corner in the Young Bond Danger Society newsletter. It features an all black background with white finger/hand prints. Could this be similar to the cover art?

What's great about this is even with international shipping cost the price is about the same as a US hardcover (which we won't see until 2010). So for those in the US who want to read "the maid incident", why not grab it now.
