Yeah, Shadow War fitted in nicely with the other book titles. By Royal Command is the odd one out in a way, but it is still a great title.

Bizarrely enough, this is exactly the same title I was going to give to my entry for the CBn Centenary Short Story Collection, that I never got round to writing.

Weird, eh?

I take it you're a fan of the title, then?

Yeah. Although I would have preferred it to have been used as a film title.

An alternative title I considered was 'The Voice of Treason'. Which will probably now turn out to be the title of Bond 23.

Amazing. Royal Dalton's title for the CBn Centenary Short Story Collection was 'By Royal Command'. What are the chances of that?

I'm not too keen. It feels too selfconsciously Bondian.

Not that I can think of a better title....

Compared to all the other YB titles this one is quite bland.

Great title, much better than the sci fi like "Shadow War".

I cannot think of what kind of cover art they will use for it though.

Originally I thought it could be white mainly due to the Alps location. The Shadow War then made me think a black/grey cover. But now, purple is the colour of royalty, is it not?

White and purple were also colors I considered. But what image will they use? A snow-related image? Something to do with the Royals? Or maybe some creature we don't yet know about? The YB covers have been hard to predict.

You know, this is the first time that a YB title announcement hasn't also included the cover art. Not that I'm complaining. I love that we got a title this early.

By Royal Command is a nice, refined title. The Shadow War is also a good title and I think it would suit Bond 23 with Daniel Craig. Eon should have taken a leaf from IFP when they were thinking of a title for TND and DAD!

BRC sounds good but I just hope it doesn't have to much action in it like Double Or Die and Hurricane Gold had. Silverfin and Bloodfever struck the perfect balance. Silverfin is still my favourite Young Bond book. Bloodfever second. HG third and DOD last. No not last, fourth!

If they go for a creature maybe use an alpine Ibex or a Chamois, indigineous symbols of the Alps.

Something tells me they might not do a creature this time. Somehow I expect something that ties into the Royal element.

There's also the possibility that they'll do something entirely different for the hardcover, as the did with HG.

Wonder what that could be for this one. A specific colour theme, as was completely obvious in the case of Hurricane Gold, doesn't seem as likely for this one.

Yeah, I kind of feel the same way. Charlie actually talked about this in one of our interviews, how they wanted to get away from the creatures for the DOD cover, that kids liked continuity, but not predictability. I feel like we again need a creature break. Three books with creatures, two without. Feels right.

I'd bet on a 'royal' crown or a shield with a generic coat of arms. The latter would be pretty cool for a hardcover, beveled, same size as Hurricane Gold, and silver. I can picture that perfectly on my book shelf.

Have another look at my story. I changed the image to one that I think is the Windsor royal coat of arms.

Yes, a hardcover with some sort of royal angle would be very nifty.

I'm not crazy about the title. But I don't really like any of the Young Bond titles, to be honest...
