It'll be interesting to see how, or if, EON will respond to this rumor as it becomes more widespread.

They'll ignore it like they've always done. And this one is not as big a rumour as on previous productions.

They're laughing at this right now given how utterly dumb the idea is...Indeed, they're licking their chops at how they're gonna line their pockets given all this free publicity.

When you get free publicity, you let it ride all the way to the bank.

They'll probably ignore it now, but if the rumor keeps growing and doesn't eventually go away, then at some point, probably a future press conference, they'll most likely be asked to address it by the media.

I'm not willing, though, to dismiss the rumor yet. While it's most likely untrue, it's not completely out of the question. Who would have thought that, prior to preproduction on QoS, that EON would be able to get a quality director in the league of Marc Forster. I think that once such quality filmmakers are brought on board, that high quality actors are more than likely soon to follow. While I doubt that we'll see Pacino in QoS, I can't say that I'd be particularly shocked if this turned out to be true, either, considering the direction that EON is taking the franchise and the amount of credibility that names like Haggis and Forster bring to the franchise.

I first read this on DarkHorizons last night.

It'd certainly be interesting. Good? Not so sure.

He's my favorite actor along with De Niro. After thinking this through, I wouldn't mind seeing him in a new wave Bond movie. Even if I feared for him to overshadow our man, Daniel Craig.

But for the record, I'm now willing to bet my nuts, that The Big Al's going to be in the movie.

Just imagine what Daniel Criag must be thinking...

"That's just great! I've made the Bond character my own, and they cast an uber-actor like Pacino to be my nemesis. I'm toast!"

Is it silly of me to think that Craig would be able to hold his own against Pacino and not be overshadowed by him?

Well Craig did just fine with Paul Newman in Road to Perdition, but I guess it depends on what the scene/role calls for. Maybe he and Bond will have dinner like in Dr.No!

That would be a fantastic scene. Such a scene could be amongst the best in the franchise if Al Pacino, or another actor of his quality, were to be acting opposite Daniel Craig.

I recently watched Heat and the Insider again. Both are absolutely great performances from Pacino. If he brings that kind of performance to a Bond movie, film in general will be better for it.

You're kidding, right? I'd think he'd be estactic to work with such a legend, opportunities like that must be rare.

Was a fun speculation while it lasted.

Even though it now appears a bit dated, I'd still like to post a link to this story:
http://screenrant.co...antum-1379.html
which is a very good take on the whole affair.

Cashews, if you don't mind...

Seriously, though; I doubt they would have gone for such a high-profile actor to appear as the main villain, especially when there's no in-series precedent for such.

Everyone prepare themselves for the next rumour, which started in exactly the same way as the Pacino one. Someone added Ian Holm as head of the organisation on Wikipedia before it was deleted. Let's wait for a tabloid to get hold of that revelation!

It's a shame that this appears to not be at all true. Oh well, it was great fun speculating about it while it lasted. Hopefully Mr. Pacino will make an appearance in a future Bond film somewhere down the line.

I think for the bad guy of all bad guys it really cannot be a cliche over the top character.

Someone who is somewhat an equal to Bond. Someone who has charm, yet takes no bs and is in a blink of an eye ruthluss and cruel. Someone who can walk in the street on their own without the need of an entrouge. But with one call unlease an army. Someone who was not born evil(as nobody really is) but through a set of events became a sociapath.

We need a Keyser S
