A french site claims that English actor Neil Jackson has been cast as Mr Slate in QoS (IMDb).

Mr. Slate, hmmmm?

Either the colour/codename theory is true, or he's representing Christopher Hitchens.

I finalized contracts a few days ago to play the role of Mr. Slate in the new, as yet untitled, Bond film. Details are a little sketchy at this point, but I do have a big fight with 007...

He must have lightened up a bit since then.In a November 9th post, he said the character he was up for was named "Mr. Black"

Either that, or the colour/codename designation was way too obvious. He must have lightened up a bit since then.In a November 9th post, he said the character he was up for was named "Mr. Black"

Surnames which are colours are very common. I still maintain it's just a name, otherwise it's just blatantly ripping off Resevoir Dogs.

Which, in and of itself, is a ripoff of The Taking of Pelham One Two Three.

Unless other character surface with names which are actually colours like Mr Black, Mr Grey, Mr Blue...I maintain my opinion that there is no colour code in the organisation.

Actually, wasn't there a Fredrick Gray in some of the earlier Bond films?

Their source is IMDb, but after a search I see that he announced this on his MySpace way back on December 19th.

Looks like he also posted on his page in early November that he would be playing "Mr. Black."
Now that we know about it, I wonder if his MySpace page will mysteriously vanish the way Olga's did.

What happened with Olga's page? Was there something "interesting" on it...?

So it appears this bloke is a former amateur boxing champion. I don't think this will be a particularly big role, judging from his resume which mostly consists of the odd episode of tv here and there. I'm guessing its a Gettler sized role with one or two lines, and a quick fight.

Curious that his original name, Black...also a color like Green and White.
I'm also curious to know who is changing all these names. He was Mr. Black on Nov 9 (5 days into writer strike). Today he is Mr. Slate. We know Amalric's name was changed as well. But I guess it doesn't require a writer to change character names.
