It's unfortunate, but I'm not surprised. Hopefully some day they can come to an agreement, as I and many others would love to see a re-release.

Same. I wonder how much publicity would be surrounding the game if fans were assured it was definitely on the way.

Most of those game stills you see of Goldeneye with upgraded graphics, are usually MODS that you can download for games Such as Half-life in which random people re-create goldeneye with half-life software.

This is a petition that seems to have been started since the news.

My name is certainly down there

Knew it was only a matter of time until one of these showed up.

Remember my image? (The one on page 1)

Remember those things I said about the game's graphics?

Now, there's a video on youtube about that...

GoldenEye for Xbox leaked video?

It's a video from Silo, and as you can see, it's not any mod for HL 2 or the N64 version on PC, and it looks the same as the photo I post on page 1...

Maybe I was right

Plus, Activision's Bond game said to be "coming along very nicely"

Xbox Evolved really has NO idea what they're talking about...if you pay attention, you'll see that everyone is having their own 'sources' and everyone has a different theory and story. This is annoying.

Rumors dude.

The quote from Activision looks pretty legit though.

Yes, but that's because it seems they asked them to contrast the info. I wish I could tell anything, but you didn't believe me before.

GoldenEye 64 used the faces of many people from the development team, and so GoldenEye for Xbox Live Arcade uses them (as I said before)

Posted Image

This image from Mundorare (and the article is in there and in 007Spain too) confirms that everything I told you is right and this is no mod for Half Life 2 or whatever, that guy is Keith Rabbette and works for Rare.

An image of the DAM level will surface soon (I suposse that tomorrow it will be on the net).

Maybe you should re-read what I told you a month ago

Well, that's one of the images I've seen from the DAM level.

There will be an announcement soon (in that web) but it won't be good and you won't like it. (At least from what I know of the game's status)

Actually _Ozu_, there is a Half-Life 2 GE mod. It's called "GoldenEye Source" and it's been out for a good bit.

http://www.goldeneyesource.com/

They ran into a bit of legal trouble with MGM year before last when they posted videos of the game on YouTube.

EDIT: Nevermind, sorry. I've misread your posts. Disregard.

I suspected so.

Fingers crossed everything can be sorted out - there's obviously demand for this game.

I hope that if it goes ahead, it is the exact game from the N64, just with updated graphics. I don't want Xbox development team faces on the gaurds, I want the originals.

They might be doing that to avoid legal issues. I mean there's lots of actors out there that dont want their faces used in games (eg. Matt Damon in The Bourne Conspiracy, Tom Cruise in Mission: Impossible).

And while we're using Goldeneye as an example of new graphics vs originals look at how much Rare changed the "Facility" level in GE to the "Felicity" map in Perfect Dark on N64.

I'd take changed graphics and a release date over the original and not being released.

That has more to do with $$$. Damon and Cruise didn't object. They just weren't offered.

Likewise a lot of the characters in GoldenEye won't be back because of licensing and $$$ issues.

[dark], that picture doesn't really show how great can DAM look on 360, I've seen them better

That just shows the background without really focusing on the models of the characters from the game, I suposse they will release at least another one from the ones I've seen when the magazine comes out (sorry I can't tell much, you know...some things should not ever be told because you never know who's watching).

I agree K1 but in my eyes if I have to play as a Rare employee as 007 in order to get a updated GoldenEye then i'll gladly take it.

The saddest thing about this entire game is that I'll bet not once do us fans get considered as Microsoft and Nintendo squabble over licencing and royalties.

A shame since it's more than clear a lot of people are working to get a new release of this game and that many Bond fans would love to see it happen.

I really thought it was going ahead. The rug has been pulled out from under us again - we always have the original. Bring on the fresh blood of Activision's new game.
