The British hardbacks are still the nicest looking versions, hands down.
Definitely agreed. Huge fan of that cover design.

Now we just have to wait and see how much the book will cost.

After also being responsible for the new Fleming hardback covers, and the Royal mail Fleming centenary stamps in the UK, please will someone handcuff Stevie to a grand piano, preferably underwater. Although this may prove far too slow-moving and boring a demise for many a Bond fan here.

Sadly, some of us literary completists will have to buy this just to have the full version of 'Blast from the Past'.
I suppose I fall into that category too.

Would ideally have prefered all his short stories in one volume.

Well done to Pegasus book for having the courage to republish the books.
And, for my money, the Union Trilogy represents the best of Benson's Bond.
For those who baulk at Benson, buy this book!

I would have preferred that as well. And some decent cover art, but both were seemingly too much to ask...

800+ pages in a softcover is going to be quite awkward.
Possibly, but not necessarily. Zachary Leader's The Life of Kingsley Amis paperback runs at 996 pages and it's no issue.

Question: I've got a copy of High Time to Kill (which I've heard is the best Benson novel). Should I get this omnibus? Are the other stories worth buying another copy of HTTK?
Well, it's going to have the extended version of Blast from the Past so I'm going to get it just for that...
Same here. It's really not a bad buy considering the price, Joey Bond, and if you want to track down a copy of

I have a post card of the cover and I'm really excited for the release because I do not own a copy of Blast From the Past so it will be a chance to read it.
I'm definitely looking forward to the full version of that one.
Wonder what novels they'll choose for the 2009 omnibus if that keeps going forward.
