I agree, Vauxhall.Yeah I really cannot imagine she is the main Bond girl, especially with all the hype about Latin actresses. I can perhaps see Aterton merely being a background character, such as a hotel receptionist.
I think the main girl's supposed to be aged around thirty. So, Gemma Arterton would probably be considered to be a bit too young for that role. Unless they've made the character younger, that is...

The Sun are saying it too
The Sun and the Mail had the casting of Craig first.
I think the fact that she is not saying yes or no makes it ring true. I will believe this kind of news over some Eurotrash actor running his mouth saying he's got a part.
I am sure the whole cast has been sworn to secrecy.

Is not. If he was in his 50s then sure. The Daily Mail = tabloid = major BS!! I'm not buying into this!! LOL.. She's very attractive but I seriously doubt that she's going to be the main Bond girl. She's 22 and Daniel Craig is 39.. Too big of an age difference..

Eva Green was only 25/26 when they shot CR. Craig was 38.

Lordy, Caterina Murino looks postively elderly standing next to her!

Anyway, she seems nice enough. I'm not familiar with her, but I'll be interested to see what part she plays in the film.

Wasn't there some report that BOND 22 was to feature four different Bond girls?

I seem to remember hearing something like that as well. I think that having 4 Bond girls is a bit much, but if one or two of them is a very minor character like Valenka ended up being in CR, then I would be OK with having four different Bond girls in Bond 22.

I notice that CBn was mentioned in that article.
Also, is the title of Bond 22 really going to be 007 as this article suggests?

Is she Moneypenny???
?????
I wouldn't' be all that surprised if this turned out to case, although I would rather not see the Moneypenny character return to the series at this point.

It's probably the case that one or two of them is exceedingly minor.I seem to remember hearing something like that as well. But is it possible that we're wrong that there would even be a "main" Bond girl in BOND 22? That, after Vesper, Bond merely has a few sexual encounters, but there's no really substantial developed relationship with a female throughout the whole of the film? That'd be quite interesting, though it's probably bolder than what they'd go for.

That would be a very interesting direction for the franchise to go, and would be something that would be a good way to get away from the formula that usually dictates that there must be one Bond girl that shares a lot of screen time with Bond. I think that it could be a very good way to go to not have one "main" Bond girl like there has been in most of the films.

A lot of people want to see Moneypenny back again, but I can't see it myself. Can anyone tell me how anything creative or interesting would be added to the movies by reintroducing the character? Bond's brief exchanges with Villiers in CR were better than any with Moneypenny since OHMSS. I'd like to see that progress over the next few films.
I've probably said this before, but I think the way forward would be in introducing a new character along the lines of Sylvia Trench from DR NO and FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE. Does anyone else think Gemma Aterton looks a bit like Eunice Gayson in that picture with the bow and arrow?

And anyone who is alleged in the paper to have announced to the world the part is theirs tends not to be on Eon's list at all. I seem to remember Sharon Stone was Elektra King, Whitney Houston was Wai Lin and Gerard Bulter was the next Bond. Eon are not stupid.
So, Anatole Taubman is not on EON's list?

On a more serious note, I think Arterton is a more beautiful woman than some of the St Trinian's clips/photos suggest. I don't think her hair style and heavy makeup in that film are particularly flattering. In the studio interviews I saw, she looked a lot more natural and more attractive, although very young. She had good interview technique too. All in all, I liked her and wouldn't object to seeing her cast as a leading Bond girl.

Ugh, I never want to see Villers again. Just a terrible terrible British stereotype.

Bring back Colin Salmon for these parts. The guy could act.

I agree. He was an obvious geek, and the part was wasted.

Well, who knows? Forster could have someone else in mind.

Bond's kisses prove deadly for Caterina
As the 22-year-old St Trinian's actress Gemma Arterton prepares to start work next month on the latest James Bond film, she might be advised to listen to some words of warning from her co-star Caterina Murino, who appeared in 007's last outing, Casino Royale.
Caterina has admitted that she received a death threat after canoodling with Daniel Craig. "When he kissed me in the film, maybe it was because it was the first and only time I've ever been kissed by an Englishman, but it was so sexy, so real," she says.
"It must have looked very real, because among the many fan letters I got was a death threat from someone who was jealous."
In St Trinian's, the 33-year-old Italian plays Miss Maupassant, a languages teacher, while Gemma is the head girl. Gemma says the film - which I expect to be this Christmas's biggest hit - is an amplified version of her own experiences at Gravesend Grammar.

Well, that's completely ridiculous.
