Although Brozza cannot sing, he kind of gruffed his way through the song. As the distraught father, it made sense. (even though it was painful)
On the other hand, I do not think he's an amazing actor, but was a competent James Bond. I prefer his non Bond though.

Cheers,
Ian

ABBA is bigger than BOND.
As Mae West said when she found out her sixth husband was an English spy, twice as big as Bond she said, "I don't know; I never measured either one of them."

Very little plot actually occurs over the space of 108 minutes of ABBA songs, strung together like a hokey join-the-dots and interspersed with endless scenes of screaming women. ... Mamma Mia! is almost lazy in its willingness to be so happy and cheerful. I can't recall the last time I saw a movie that actively encouraged its audience to switch off completely.
Well, all of that is true, but I still found MAMMA MIA! an enjoyable romp, even though I absolutely despise ABBA. It's certainly not a deep and meaningful film, or even an especially inventive or involving one, but it'll go to work on you well enough if you let it. And Brosnan is absolutely outstanding - probably his best ever work, along with the excellent THE MATADOR (even though his singing is indeed rather poor).
Give this flick a go, why don't you? You've nothing to lose except for a couple of hours of your life and possibly a bit of cash.

I think the whole cult of ABBA thing has blown their legacy way out of proportion frankly. Yes they wrote some good songs, but not everything the wrote was a gem and there have certainly been bands (and I'm talking about bands that could be considered "pop" bands just or almost as easily as ABBA) with more impressive single collections than ABBA.

...I loved every glorious, silly, camp minute of it. It's not deep. It's not going to change the world. But I defy anyone with a heart not to watch it with a daft grin throughout. Oh, and I was surprised by how bad Pierce Brosnan wasn't. It deserves every penny of its success.

When are they gonna base a movie on:
Alice Cooper in general or that particular song?
Either way it's only a matter of time.

MAMMA MIA! is now officially the highest grossing film of all time at the British box office. Staggering.
I absolutely hate Titanic and love Mia. So Im quite happy!

Blows my mind! Not my cup of tea, I'm an ABBA snob if it isn't Agnetha, Benny, Bjorn, FridA doing the singing I'm not listening. But hey you know, good for Mamma Mia!

Popular sing-a-long comedy overtakes 'Titanic' for top spot

Who would have guessed Pierce would have had the last laugh?!

In trivia news, this would make him the only Bond whose biggest hit was a non-Bond movie, yes?

Yo, Mamma. LOLIts official. Audiences prefer Broz prancing around and badly singing pop songs than they did his portrayal of James Bond

I've said all along that Pierce is better at light comedy than trying to play a hero, or more exact another character. He can only play himself, and this part suits him (although his signing is dire)
He had the balls to take this on. Even though he couldn't sing, we must respect his balls.

At last, proof that Americans do not have a monopoly on bad taste.
LOL!

I'll take my Dark Knight over Mamma Mia! any day, thank you

BTW that photo of Pierce on the main page is fantastic. It's like "Pierce Brosnan: The King of HOLLYWOOD!"

What a sorry state of affairs. Dreadful film with a cringe-inducing, career low performance by the Bros.
Let's leave THE WORLD IS NOT ENOUGH out of it, please

I can say for my boy brozza , that he had aged well. Just like Streep , who must be pretty old by now. So if I live to grow as old as them I want to drink from the same well they've been using.
I don't know why people complain about brozzas singing. I know there's a chance that he can't sing. But they can do anything in a recording studio these days. He didn' sound that off the note , when compared to the other two male performers. He just sounded like brozza singin , with his distinguish brozza voice. I only laughed because it was a former Bond star singing ABBA , only after 4 years since he was Bond ( in EON)
