He was wearing a new jockstrap made by 'Q' called the "nut-cluster". :D

something like that unless he was wearing armor on his thing painted his skin color for protection.

You'd be surprised what people actually (and sometimes unfortunately ) can endure. The torture wasn't aimed at severing any parts of anatomy as 'le passage de mandoline', the original torture of agents in Algeria during WWII that gave Fleming the idea for Bond's torture in 'Casino Royale'. It was aimed at inflicting as much pain as possible without killing.

Sorry to take this strange yet funny thread back to reality :D but I had never heard about this "passage de mandoline", and I didn't manage to find any reference on the web. As I didn't know Fleming had some "real world" inspiration for the torture scene, I'd be interested if you could give us more information, Trident?

I'm sweating as I read this thread. I think that the human body can endure a lot of pain and abuse and recover. I think Fleming and the makers of CR gave the torture it's due by letting Bond recover for several weeks.

I'm surprised that in the time that Bond was recovering in hospital, he didn't try to seduce a nurse or two to get them to write him a clean bill of health. Or perhaps he did, and once he tried to bed them, they said "eh, sorry Mr Bond, it still doesn't work!".

Then back to the bed with his balls in bandages he went. :D lol.

What were those instruments of torture for that Stamper had in TND? Were they meant for a similar purpose?

Why do you think there is a 7 year gap between CR (book), and Dr. No (movie)? It took that long to heal up!! :D

Clearly his equipment wasn't entirely intact afterwards, after all, a couple of hundred ladies later he's yet to produce any offspring. Might have more to do with the effects of time travel, though.

An active sex life without offspring doesn't mean Bond is sterile. It simply means he is wise and cautious ;D

Yet, I repear: his partner IS pregnant at the end of YOLT (the novel).

My bad. Although I'm not sure Bond was so wise and cautious in the 60s/70s before AIDS and all that.

Still, I forgot about his possible Japanese offspring.

According to the book the 'twins' ached for days, and he walked crooked. I assume he must have been very swollen, which probably wouldn't disappoint the ladies. Unless he was flattened like battered steak of course, but steak springs back after a while.

I must admit to being fascinated by JB's battered balls.
