My favorite? I'd say On Her Majesty's Secret Service.
The worst? I'll say The World is Not Enough.

FYEO for its sheer layer'd-ness. Also, it sits very well in the movie and is nicely built up to.
Spy and OHMSS are equal second.
AVTAK comes third but only because it is a different animal and if taken as such, the Beach Boys (for me) sits quite nicely in the sequence/film. (Really, how much danger is there really in this film?)
TLD was a bit silly.
And in 10th place is TWINE. For all of its potential for beauty and speed, this sequence could have been shot in mud and still not lost a jot in pace. And the reason it's in 10th place is for the next five Bond films that showcase skiing, as it will surely fall below those as well.

I would have to say that the best ski chase for me is a toss-up between OHMSS and FYEO, but OHMSS narrowly comes out on top. Both are just so fast, intense and full of excitement. And the music makes both of them all the better! The only highlight of TSWLM's chase was the memorable Union Jack parachute jump; up until that point, nothing really stands out other than Rog's loud yellow ski suit. That's just me of course
But TWINE is definitely the worst, nothing about that ski chase was anything to go 'Wow!' over. Very bland.
I share your sentiments about OHMSS, The Spy Who Loved Me and The world Is Not Enough, but for me, the chase in For Your Eyes Only, whilst very entertaining, has far too much humour in it for it to be taken seriously, so for me, it's OHMSS all the way!

The worst one is from TWINE. Although I like the whole film, the ski scene is filled with things that are impossible. For example Brosnan jumps and lands on the enemy's "vehicle", he tores up the parachute and then the first "vehicle" crashes onto the second! So much luck in on one scene? I don't think so!

Do not have a least favorite.

Twine is the worst because of the way BOnd escapes. He relies on a gadget which really make me mad, why couldn't he have out witted his opponents like in OHMSS.
Well, the baddies are already dead before he uses the gadget (the inflatable jacket) to save him and Elektra from a mini-avalanche. But to kill the parahawk pilots he skis onto one of their canopies sending it out of control, straight into the other one! I love the way he is fiddling at his gloves, not even looking! He just KNOWS it's going to work!

OHMSS has the best start to the chase, with bond skiing off from Piz Gloria, avoiding machine gun fire. Spy has the unforgettable ski off the cliff ending.
Very close second is FYEO. Love the disposal of the motorbike by putting a ski pole in between 2 trees, and the jump onto the restaurant table and out, and onto the toboggan run.
Some of the others are good AVTAK starts promisingly and is pretty good up to the point he disposes of the helicopter.
TWINE is OK, but somehow doesn't capture any excitement for me. But its an enjoyable watch, while not exactly edge of the seat stuff.

No other sequence has really come close to that one - but TWINE has to take the price as the worst one: boring, the set up is incredibly contrived and the gimmick (paragliders) really isn't menacing. The less said about how it ends, the better. The location is nice and there are some pretty set up shots at the start though.

Indeed. There is no sense of threat. I've said it before, but I loathe the scene where the parahawk is directly behind the skiing Bond, opens fire with his machine gun, only to hit the snow in front of him. Sure, Bond is not going to get hit, but have it with Bond skiing fast around a corner or something before the man can shoot, or something like that. The threat level then increases, with the audience getting the impression if Bond was in their sights, he quite possibly could be in danger from these crack assassins, but he keeps evading them.No other sequence has really come close to that one - but TWINE has to take the price as the worst one: boring, the set up is incredibly contrived and the gimmick (paragliders) really isn't menacing. It'a a Bond movie. The baddies are terrible at shooting. The bad guys in Venice in Casino Royale are just as inept. I am sure they will be in QoS, too.
