There was a story a while back about filming in Puerto Rico...adds up.

:cooltongue: Isn't that more, y'know, North America? Or Caribbean, at best.

, but I think Morena Baccarin (Firefly, Serenity) would be perfect. Right age, roots, and a true beauty to boot.

I love this idea, I've been hoping she'd get more work after her great role in Firefly (and by extension, Serenity).

Doh, completely forgot about her. I'll third that one.

Puerto Rico is NOT in South America, besides Bond's been to Caribbean three times in the last five films. I'm hoping for Santiago, Chile or Argentina.

How aboot Chilean actress Leonor Varela, who was in Blade II, Tailor of Panama(!), and Arrested Development(!!)

http://www.imdb.com/...E... Leonor (I)

I remember when she was in the TV movie version of "Cleopatra" several years ago. Her and Billy Zane did a remote interview with one of our local newscasters, and they had her say her name. The way she rolled her 'r's sent chills down my spine. I could go for her.

Ah yes...the one with...TIMOTHY DALTON!!!!

South America? How about Uruguay?
Recently saw a documentary about the Casapueblo in Punta del Este and immediately thought that it would make a fantastic Bond location. A hotel that also includes a museum and an art gallery, designed by Carlos P

Roselyn Sanchez or Sofia Vergara, I suppose. They all seem a bit obvious though. I would prefer someone who isn't in FHM or telenovelas.

I love Sofia Vergara, but I just can't see her in a Bond film. Maybe I'm just colored by the fact that I've only seen her in sitcoms. Maybe I'd be pleasantly surprised.

I didn't know he was in it. I didn't watch it; just the interview. Hooray for chance Bond connections! :cooltongue:

Puerto Rico: Spanish-speaking country, Latin/Latina, etc. May not be South American, but it could certainly be standing in for many SA countries.

I think Varela would be a superb choice.

Not since MR has Bond set foot in SA in the movies.

Sorry to burst some people's geographical bubble here, but Puerto Rico (GE)is an American Territory in the Caribbean and Isthmus City is a fictional location (Mexico City and Acapulco in reality).

To see Bond return here would be a blast! Buenos Aires would be the best bet (casino scene & meeting "the girl") with opportunities to explore a jungle.

I'm reminded of Sanchez' villa in Licence to Kill :cooltongue:.

Bond 22 sounds very promising at the moment, Interesting choice to pick a Latino Actress.

Interesting news. European and South American combination sounds great, and also very Bondian, to me.

Here's sort of weird confirmation of this Latin Bond Girl search. Hey, why not look in Israel? STORY.

Hmmm.... I'm all for an Israeli Bond girl, but ideally it'd be an Israeli actress playing.... erm, an Israeli (and I've always wanted to see 007 in Israel, too). If they're looking for a "Latina" type, I'd have thought that "South America" (to use an umbrella term), L.A., Miami, New York, Portugal and Spain would throw up a wide enough pool of candidates.

So really, they're looking for anyone vaguely non-English...

Meital Dohan? She's Israeli.

Likely to be more than one 'Bond Girl' in Bond 22, I would imagine...

Look closer. They're looking for an Isreali actress to play a hispanic character.

I agree - go to Southern Europe or South America if you want a "Latin" actress. Go for authenticity - an Israeli actress playing a Latin doesn't make sense and in addition is a politically motivated and highly charged option. Get the real thing EON!!!

Sounds good but the first thing that popped into my mind was... "Please NO J-Lo or Alba!"

I'm hoping they'll pick another Eva Green type. Girl was amazing! :cooltongue:
