I made a point not to purchase the first version of the DVD. Now, three discs with deleted scenes and commentary? Count me in.
I too gave the first version a wide berth. It's been tough not watching the film for a second time, but I'd rather wait for the better release.

Or an alternate cut of the movie.
For now, I'll be optimistic. The double-dip strategy is a fairly sleazy business, but we know this has been planned for since early-on. I doubt we'll get a doc as candid and all-access as DAD's Script to Screen (an ITV production leased back by Sony, I believe), but I certainly hope for one.
(A great documentary can be entertainment in itself, after all. The Lord of the Rings docs on the extended editions took two discs per movie, and were never dull. And each Red Dwarf series has a feature-length doc that'll make you laugh out loud.)
Deleted scenes are priority one for me, though. We didn't lose THAT much from the shooting script, but I'd like to see the longer balcony scene. After that, it's docs, commentaries, a marketing archive with trailers and TV spots...all the usual. Eon isn't known for warts-and-all revelations, so I'll settle for glossy, informative and entertaining.

I wanna see the screen test. The screen test have to be there. It's the genesis of Bond being reborn.
That's what I want to see with this new release of the film as well. Deleted scenes would be nice as well, but those alone would not be enough for me to spend more money on the film. If we get either the screen test or a director's cut of the film (or, hopefully, both), then I'll get this new release of the film, but otherwise, I'll have to pass.

Oh yeah, that might make me buy it too. Apparently The Netherlands got the original, unrated version. I don't suppose it'll be to different from the cinematic release though. I'd love to see it though. Damn, why couldnt they just give the film a 15 rating to begin with?! Well, I already know the answer to that...
I'd love to see a complete version of the film with no violence cut out and including all the deleted scenes.

Actually, you got the timing wrong, that was a John Woo film, all the bonuses have to be played in slow motion.
Yeah, but in "Windtalkers"? Does Nicholas Cage carry a radio in each hand or something?
