If you watch the chair torture scene and pay close attention to the lines, Elektra cut her own ear lobe off as a means to manipulate Renard into thinking she had been victimized by his men.

Uuh ? Are you sure ? As far as I can remember, she indeed cut off her own ear lobe AFTER turning Renard, and she did it herself because he didn't want to harm her, and because she considered it necessary to put pressure on her father.
I don't have the DVD at hand right now, but I shall check as soon as possible.

Oh yeah, right, that's it. Duh. Whoops! I just remember that she did it herself, around the same time as turning Renard. See how many times you can watch it and get confused? :cooltongue:

For what it's worth, I think the second version is pretty much what it was.

Bond's a bit trigger happy in that film.

"...thanks to your over-developed trigger finger" :cooltongue:

Well, Bond is visibly regret after killing her. He undoubtly falls in love.
I think that's a great detail to TWINE that helps us to undrestand Bond's real
emotions.

Well, would we all agree then that it is not immediately clear as to what's going on inside Elektra's mind and exactly WHY Bond killed Elektra? One is left with a kindof empty feeling, like, "Oh, he just shot her".

I'll agree that it's not exactly clear what's going on in TWINE :cooltongue:

Seriously though, I think 00twelve has the right idea, as it did him, it took me several viewings to take it all in as well. Elektra always believed her mother was robbed of the Oil Empire by marrying her father.

When she got kidnapped she "turned" Renard, then used him to kill her father. Once her father was dead she got lucky in that Bond was sent out to protect her, than she used Bond to get at M. She essentially used Bond twice, while "turning" him by making him fall in love with her. So not only did he find out she didnt really love him, he found out he was used to kill two different people, I think at this point Bond is pretty justified in killing Elektra.
