For those of you who don't speak German, there are images of the cut scenes, so you can see for yourself.
The major UK cut was about 12 seconds from the torture scene, while the US version had cuts in the PTS and the stairwell fight.

Do you think that there will be an unrated directors cut for casino royale? There are a lot of scenes missing that I'd like too see added to the final product (aside from the cuts made to reduce violence). I'd like to see the cricket match and the Bond/Vesper swim, as well as Valenka's swim. Would be interesting to see how much different the film would be and how uch impact those scenes would hvae had on the final product.
And if I do get a BluRay Disk player is it too much trouble to put all that on the BluRay? Please.

It would be nice to someday see the release of a uncut Casino Royale with all the deleted scenes replaced back in the film.

No, what I mean is, the cut on the US DVD is the one shown in most US theaters, you may have been lucky to see it uncut (I think the prints were uncut, while the digital showing were the US cut)
Your right I did see the uncut version.

I think the inclusion of the cricket match footage would spoil the structure of the PTS; the jump cuts between Dryden's office and Bond's first kill are what makes the sequence IMO. Also the mirroring of Bond and then Carter giving themselves away by touching their earpieces is a bit obvious for my liking. I don't have a problem with scenes from later on though.

In any case, I wouldn't mind seeing some of the cut material back in a "CR:EE". But no matter what, I won't be picking it up before it comes out as a real collector's version.

I know Sony have an extended version of Da Vinci ready for release at some point so maybe an extended Casino Royale is also being prepped.... Hope so.

Well, the way that the cricket match was written in the script still features the cuts back and forth between Bond and Dryden. The only difference would be the length in between cuts. The fight itself was also abrieviated, as one can see by the pictures in "Bond On Set" (a must have btw). I don't know, personally I think the cricket match would add to the PTS, the way its written and its purpose is very cool.

I fully understand that; the point I was making was that the whole sequence probably works better just by cutting to and from the fight and not by having establishing footage.
The cricket match must have been cut just to improve the flow of the pre-titles, and I can certainly see how the version that was used would be more dramatic than the scripted version.
Like he said.

I had never heard about the cricket scene until now..can someone tell me a little more about it?
The fight between Bond and Dryden's contact takes place in the restroom of a cricket ground, originally there was footage of Bond observing his target in the crowds outside and giving himself away by touching his earpeice in much the same way that Carter does in the finished film's opening chase sequence.

I can see why they got rid of that scene with Bond touching his earpiece.
