What I'd like to see is:
1. As many others have said, less action than in Casino Royale. Preferably, I'd like to see just one action sequence in the film (and by that, I mean a major action sequence like the free-running or Miami sequences in CR) and have the rest of it be a good, dark, suspenseful film where the only other action to occur would be hand-to-hand combat along the lines of the stairwell fight in CR.
2. A storyline that does not feature, in any way, a mole inside MI6. Of course, they're going to have to tie up loose ends with Vesper's storyline, but I don't want to see a new mole introduced to the series. It's been done in virtually every spy movie that's been out in the last few years, and it's getting extremely predictable and tiresome.
3. Make the film the revenge film that we should have gotten after OHMSS. Here, Bond has virtually the same motivation, so I think that EON should step up and give us the film that DAF should have been back in the '70s.
4. Make the film darker than any Bond film we've ever seen before. I recall the official synopsis for Casino Royale saying that the climax of CR was supposed to be terrifying. I guess, in a way, it was, but if one had read the book, there wasn't much there towards the end that a reader of the book wouldn't have seen coming. For once, I'd like to be truly on the edge of my seat and have the true feeling that Bond might not make it out of the situation.

I realize many of mine are probably just repeated ideas from other people, but that's ok:
-More prominence of the Bond theme. I don't want it overdone, but I'd love to see it have more presence this time out, something along the lines of how a Connery film used the theme.
-Less action. Like the others before me, I want there to be more reliance on genuine suspense and less action sequences. Maybe one big set piece (or two) and a bunch of smaller hand to hand, or gunplay confrontations.
-Darker storyline. CR went dark, let's go darker. I know there is a tendency to want a lighter Bond now, but let's hold that off till at least Bond 23, I want to see them delve into Bond's psyche some more.

Here are some things I'd like to see:
1. A return to the traditional gunbarrel (although the audio of the gunshot in CR was by far the best ever! Try cranking your stereo up and listen to that shot - fantastic - even better than the audio of the gunshot in TND!)
2. I'd like to see Q - but stay away from unrealistic gadgets like invisible cars. Also, while amusing in past movies, I'd stay away from the comic relief of the background testers of the gadgets blowing themselves up, etc. My favorite Q scene of all time is the one where Bond gets his Aston in Goldfinger. Some light humor with a little banter would be great.
3. NOT less action, I thought the balance was excellent. However, if I had to drop one of the action sequences in CR, it would have been the one at the Miami Airport. I like Bond action sequences to be unique - different from something you might see in another action pic, but definitely more realistic like in CR.
Regards
