we need richard kiel to do a spectacular cameo in the oncoming bonds ... preferably the next.

not only would it be a precious continuity of the bond franchise ... but lets face it .. we fans would go mental !

in an ideal world money would grow on trees , champagne would flow from our taps , politicians wouldnt lie ...... AND JAWS WOULD HAVE AN EPIC BARE KNUCKLE , 'ALL IN' BRAWL WITH CRAIG.

it would probably overshadow the whole film and be a salient talking point but its an obvious winner for the producers.

No. Continuity issues. Age factors. Craig era is not going for that sort of villain anyway.

Yeah, the role would have to be recast if the character returned. Leave Jaws with Dolly in '79 and happily ever after.

He shouldn't have come back once. Twice would be intolerable.

No thank you. I think the series has moved on from the heady days of underground bunkers and cartoon villains.

Jaws was great (even if he was given a silly and unsatisfying ending), but it's time to move on to different things. I wouldn't mind something equally original though.

And please bring back nice villain's lairs. Not just for the sake of having one, mind you, I just miss them. Monorails and all. If it's there for a purpose I see nothing wrong in having an iconic, grand lair.

I agree that we've moved on from cartoon villains like Jaws, and it would be a jarring distraction, quite apart from Mr Kiel's geriatric status - not so much Jaws as Dentures.

Maybe Kiel could be sat eating a bowl of Shredded Wheat, as Bond walks past? Like in that old telly advert.

Only if they bring him back in 3-D and push the promo tag "This time it's personal!".

Uh, no!! Definitely no Jaws for the Craig era. Jaws worked well in the video game, Everything or Nothing, but I can't see how they could possibly bring him back for the movies..

This thread title sounds like a new Justin Lee Collins show.

Definitely Dalip Singh (aka the Great Khali) should get the call if they ever decided to bring back Jaws.

Not even if he comes back with his yodeling bride. No comeback was ever less eagerly awaited...since Sharon Stone's Basic Instinct 2, wherein she was still eager to show us what we were less willing to shell out to see.

That seems to be a resounding 'no' for Jaws' return then. Gutted.

Not really.

If Richard Kiel was still the same age as he was in the early eighties, I might be tempted to agree (with numerous reservations!). As it is though, leave a good thing be.

Jaws would be out of place in the DC era, even re-casted. Contrary to what some feel, I would not mind cameos of past Bond stars whether it would be of former Bond girls, villains or 007s. It's a way to connect the past to the present. After all, one of the appealing things about the franchise is its establishment of tradition and continuity.

Far from original, but...

Hell noooo!!
(very frightened face)

Do camels belong in Antarctica? No.
Do penguins belong in the desert? Nope.
Jaws in the DC era? Not in a million years.:cooltongue:
