If it does ever rain in a Bond film, then I would prefer it to be a full-on tropical thunderstorm, rather than just the boring drizzle we usually get here.

And that is what it appears to be from the trailer for CASINO ROYALE - a tropical downpour in an African rebel camp. Another reboot aspect of Bond - this is a Bond who faces adverse weather conditions also :) Although...
Spoiler

So I guess, in some ways, the wait continues!

...at least we're finally breaking the record of never even seeing rain in this series. :P

I am sure I remember rain in past Bond films, but I keep hearing Casino Royale is the first Bond film with rain, what is the truth?

It's really annoying that I don't have my films at uni.

I think there was a little bit of rain in OHMSS, but I can't remember it on any of the others.

It has been discussed before in this thread: Has it ever rained in a James Bond Movie?
No, it hasn't. We only see raindrops on the windscreen in OHMSS, no actual rain. And the scene where Bond is chasing Zao on Los Organos was filmed during rain, but we don't see it.

I think it was just really cloudy, Halle Berry complained about the cold temperature but if it had been raining I suposse we would have noticed it when she drops her suit before falling. From the DVD, if I remember correctly, the weather forecast they get from Gibraltar told them that rain was to come some days later (but it never happened :))

It seems curious enough that in a series that has more than 44 years we'll be getting or first storm now.

I never really thought much about it before, but now I'll definitely keep an eye out for precipitation when I'm watching Bond films... :)

I am going to be watching bond movies as a marathon til casino royale. I'll also keep a lookout.

Officially, that is in terms of the scene requiring it to be raining, the answer is no, it has never rained in a Bond movie before. However, it has snowed before in On Her Majesty's Secret Service. But the films have never had rain, sleet, or hail.

It was widely reported that it was raining during the scene at the Cuban clinic in DIE ANOTHER DAY. We did not see the rain because rain has to be lit a certain way to be seen on film.

Did you realize that never rains on a 007 film??
21 films and there are no footages of a rainy day!
Amazing... And sometimes I wonder why is that...

It's about time to have a good tense fight scene in the rain.

I agree, a fight in the rain for Daniel Craig's Bond would be amazing. Maybe we will see this in Bond 22, in a London scene for example?

Yes, it rains in CR - in Uganda and also just before Bond and Vesper get it on for the first time, while he's recovering.

Sheeting rain, night, and thunder.

Add Craig and the villain, and have them fight to the death.

Dramatic, and NEVER been done before in a Bond film.

Now is the time.

Unless I'm mistaken, the weather is overcast or raining at the beginning of Live and Let Die when M and Money Penny drop in on Bond.

I would personally love to see Bond in action in a driving storm. A storm's own violence adds to the dramatic language of the scene. As support for my premise, I offer the squid fight from Disney's 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. I've seen the original stormless version of the scene as well as the storm-laden version that was used in the film. To me, there's no contest whatsoever.

Yes, a dirty, vicious fight in the rain between Bond and a henchman would be really cool.

No, it hasn't. We only see raindrops on the windscreen in OHMSS, no actual rain.

Not only did it rain in OHMSS, the wipers of Draco's limo was wiping the rain from the windows.

Hmmm, here's one...how about the melting ice fortress in DAD? OK, it's not technically rain falling from the sky, but there is lot's of dripping water. That's SORT of rainish. Does this count? :D

If the first spy pics of BOND 22 are anything to go by, expect Mr Bond to be caught in the rain this time around people!
