"Apparently when auditioning for Bond in Casino Royale, Goran Visnjic did such a good job he burned into the minds of the EON psyche. So powerful was his performance that he single handly won the role of next Bond Baddie in the upcoming Bond22 film with Daniel Craig. It is rumoured that Goran's agent has confirmed the star is working on something massive and will be taking a well earned break from ER in late 2007. It is rumoured that Goran will be playing Vesper Lynds former love interest and that his role will be sizable, meanacing and significant to the plot of the upcoming Bond adventure. Bond 22 is continuation of Casino Royale and will be forming a trilogy story for Daniel Craig's rough and tough Bond.

LMAO. Good old Goran fans, they never give up! And what an extraordinary coincidence that a Croatian film magazine just happens to have gotten the scoop before anyone in Hollywood. Damn, I thought we'd make it to at least the summer before the eye-rolling rumors started flying.

You know?
Wouldn't be surprised though. Sounds interesting.

If any truth lays on, maybe, I wasn't wrong.
I think he could be good.

But it may keep one or the other Croatian movie journo in curry (or any other local equivalent) for a few weeks.

If anything. I would think that EON would cast him as another 'OO' as opposed as the main villain.
Either way. I would love to see Goran in a Bond.

Oh this is the part I love about the beginning of the wait for a new Bond film - 2 years of rumours to look forward to!
Ridiculous or not though, these things are gonna' keep us busy till Nov 2008!

Coincidence? Maybe, maybe not.

It's Okay. As it's customary now that most villains have a "Distinguishing Mark", he'll probably look more like Brittainy Spears than himself. One problem is that Goran is arguably "prettier" than Craig. It may not be a good move to have more woman swooning over the villain than Bond himself.
Just a thought.
Of course. I mean to disrespect to Miss Spears.

Yeah. But I think its a bad idea to bring back any reference from Casino Royale as there's never been any continuity (besides a few idea's we Fanwanks come up with). So why start now. Would it make the story of Bond22 more interesting?. I do not think so. To me, why not bring in a kind of 'Lex Luther' idea, and have Goran as an old School friend who's made it big, and Bond wants to stop him performing some ludicrous scheme to take over the world. Or even worse, Wal*Mart. lolFirst rumour in a while that I like. The thing that makes me think this could be legit is the recognition of Goran's villainous role being that of Vesper's former boyfriend. Don't know if the Croatian tabloids would be able to pull that out of their so easily.
It's Okay. Had more than six coffee's today.
Cheers,
Ian

Funnily enough, that's what made me realize this ISN'T legit. A Croatian journalist reads a story about Bond 22 and that the villain might be Vesper's French-Algerian boyfriend (this story has been in the mainstream press), and he thinks, hey, our Goran might be good for that role, we got a lot of attention last time we ran those Goran-is-new-Bond stories, so let's jump on this one!

It's been well known for a while now that the producers intend for Bond 22 to be a direct sequel to Casino Royale. Just because it's never been done before doesnt mean it shouldnt be done.

It would be interesting and welcomed from me.
We have a man that was considered for Bond, a man that looks a bit like a Bond. We could have a Sean Bean/ Pierce Brosnan match off possibly if this Algerian has some spy skills, etc. We also would have a personal grudge added into it.
Look forward to developments on the villain aspect of Bond 22.

I know. But will they, though?. It was 12 years until Tracy was either mentioned or remembered. Not too sure why any characters from Casino Royale should be favoured. It's been well known for a while now that the producers intend for Bond 22 to be a direct sequel to Casino Royale. Just because it's never been done before doesnt mean it shouldnt be done.
Surely Bond 22 would display Bond more like we know him. Not pandering over a lover who he didn't marry or was that close to.
Maybe their thinking of bringing back the 'Brosnan' elements again.
As I see it. Bond is a true bastard, and shouldn't let an old 'flame' worry him. Unless of course the 'flame' is the main Baddie. Ah, crap. We're going to get another Carver.

On the down side, he reminds me of Mads Mikkelsen, right down to his voice. I don't want too similar a villain. I also never thought of him as a viable Bond candidate. But it's still a while before this project keeps going.

I saw somewhere in just the last couple of days that he was leaving ER after this season, so who knows?

And on that note, let's not forget that Mads Mikkelsen was not cast until several weeks into filming. But this time round apparently they're doing the casting ten months before shooting starts according to a Croatian source

always thought Goran was tested for Le Chiffre's part, and not to be next Bond. In the movie, Le chiffre is thought to be from Albania, and the main plot was set in Montenegro. So Goran probably fit with both parts.
If any truth lays on, maybe, I wasn't wrong.
I think he could be good.
Nice logic, but I'm pretty sure someone (Campbell or one of the producers) has confirmed that Goran was in the running (as a minimum a reference to a Croatian being considered.
As to this new rumour... it seems way too early for them to be casting... but this is a character that I imagine has already been sketched out so this isn't beyond the possible. Stranger things have happened. I'd be quite pleased with him in that role.
