I think only truly 'bad acting' moment I, myself, witnessed was when Craig's Bond mumbles "Well then, you're an idiot" to Vesper and then, when not heard says "I SAID YOU'RE A BLOODY IDIOT!"
That is one of my favorite moments in the movie.

The movie itself, however, has warts which, although I recognized them early on, make watching it more of a chore than I recalled. Between its length and excessive drama, it's a far cry from the easy-viewing of many other Bond films. Still good stuff, though.

He was great.
He's still not my favourite Bond. Nor is he my least fave.
I find all the Bonds to be groovy.

Even the mumbling bit`?
As I said before, I dont mind the scene. I only mind the mumbling.
It is also one of my favorite scenes.

re: 2. I know that he was apparently pretty uncomfortable due to some overexposure to the sun, hence the redder, "shiny" skin. He had a sunburn treatment on his skin along with the makeup, or so I've heard. Perhaps that had some *tiny* effect on his character decisions? Keeping a character totally consistent is a surprisingly remarkable skill. Although, again, I didn't find him to be noticeably inconsistent there, muhself. I loved the "you're gonna have to trust me on this" line.

He mumbled at first. The second time he made that statement, he said it loud and clear. And quite frankly, I found it effectively dramatic. I understood why Craig had acted this scene in that manner.

Otherwise I liked everything he brought to the role, to a ridiculous degree. I almost feel guilty about how much I love CR and Craig's performance, as if I'm being a traitor to past films and Bond actors. But oh well, I can't help that it was damn awesome, and I suppose it's a good thing when a franchise's latest release is better than ever.

So he . . . failed to look perfect or near perfect in that scene?
Well that's a case of twisting my words if I've ever seen one. Craig just looks creepy and odd in that shot. It wouldn't matter WHO it was, actually. It's just strange because there's this sort of long pause of dialogue as Solange is examining Bond's face, and Craig has this goofy smile and, in contrast, this icy look in his eyes which makes it sort of awkward.
Granted, the fact that this is my only criticism of his performance is a sure sign that I was rather satisfied with it.

Why was that? The man is not scared. He does not treat it as a Bond film, he treats it like any other film. Like he says, the Bond bits will sort themselves out. Therefore, he is a very natural Bond, he is not even really acting in my view, he is naturally dramatic in all his roles.
Some of his facial expressions he makes in the film, for instance, I don't see any other Bond making those. I see in the QoS B - roll footage he is up to this again, sticking his tongue out while thinking or something. This shows to me that this guy is a warrior, doesn't care and he can look however the hell he wants. He is James Bond. He is carefree.

Bond was in the middle of a conversation with his boss. He's distracted, and then this technician --WITHOUT ANY WARNING-- proceeds to shoot a metal pin the size of an adult pinkie nail into arm. Saying "Ow!" and briefly glaring at him isn't a macho movie cliched response, it's what almost anyone would do. The moment earned a genuine laugh from audiences the three times I saw it at the theater.May I say in my tiniest possible voice to avoid any threat of a spanking:
Absolute perfection--including the throwaway droll Valet line!
There is not a font size small enough for you avoid punishment, my friend. Perhaps black font would have been a safer disguise?
Ok. Let's restart this with a specific example. Who liked "Ouch" when he gets the bug implanted?
Never mind my apparent delusions that he says "Ouch. Don't ever do that again." (or my extra sensory perceptions, as the case may be, since I never read the script!). Also never mind that "ouch" may not be the best imaginable line a script could offer. It is what it is, and I'm here to talk only about what Craig did with it.
Doesn't it remind a little of Commando/Raw Deal? Does he have to stare down the guy administering the trace? Couldn't Craig have lightened it up a bit? Does it not feel a little too 'tough-guy' cliche?
C'mon. Someone help me out here. ???
I think you'll find that Craig getting quippy to lighten up a moment that wasn't calling for it would have been the real cliche.

I feel the same way. It's great, through and through. Not really a ground-breaking post, but I still can't find a speck of Craig's performance that I don't like.

You really think Lazenby did better? It's the third best performance in the series after FRWL and OHMSS.

Well I certainly don't.
As for Craig's performance, I thought he was spot on from beginning to end. There's not a line delivery or gesture that I would change about it.
