I wonder if it will get to the $575 million that some were predicting for it.

Perhaps CBn should put together a collection? :cooltongue:

Whatever happens from now on

CR has proved to be a massive success, ensuring the
continuation of the Bond franchise.............and
we won't have to wait that long for the next film.

To the 'Muppets', its a shame in this day an age that
a despicable bunch of people who call themselves fans,
have caused grief to the production team of the films
that they say they cherish...............personally
i think the 'muppets' should be sealed in air tight
containers.

Well done 'JET_SET_WILLY'

I heard in a radio interview in the States, that
Deanna Brayton is not actually a Bond fan, but a fan
of Pierce Brosnan only.

Happy NEW YEAR

as I posted in another thread, they (she) posted a link to a podcast saying how the poker was bad in the film - except the guy said that other the poker was off, Craig was the best Bond since Connery - idiots.

If she is so infatuated with him, while doesn't she pay
him a visit..........though i think Pierce would probably
vomit over her!!

Please don't do this; there is no need to add insult to injury.

Over $530 million? That's outstanding! :cooltongue:

I remember back when people didn't think it was even going to beat Die Another Day. Now look at it.

Well, I didn't think it was going to beat Borat...I was certain that it wouldn't beat Die Another Day...and I thought $500 million total box office was a crack-smoker's dream. But hey, if you're going to be wrong, at least be spectacularly wrong! And yes, I'm glad that the movie has been hellasuccessful.

I'll think of some way to boycott Bond22. After all... tomorrow is another day.

Studying the current boxoffice situation for CR today i can now see it
possibly reaching around $575 mil, which is superb.

The boxoffice in the UK for CR is relentless.........the film should be
playing here for a few more weeks.

Whats the current total EA?

.............well i know that 'screen international' were reporting
that CR had made around $99,8mil at the end of the weekend (which is
slightly higher than one or two other reports), but as of today CR
must of passed $100mil.

There may be some more information later tonight, as the American film
trade source 'Variety' gives out international midweek boxoffice figures.

EA

update

The last total reported for CR in pounds is

Deanna Brayton is not actually a Bond fan, but a fan

That's (unfortunately) true of a number of the "fans" the series had during the Brosnan era.

The webmaster for the first James Bond site on the Web (established in 1994) once said that she would take down the site the day that Brosnan left the role. Strangely enough the site is still there but still sports Pierce Brosnan as its lead photo.

But there again, you are dealing with low-life scum who have very limited intelligence.

People like thick, stupid, idiotic Dense Deanna exist only to remind us how low human beings can really stoop to.

She makes normal everyday folk like you and me feel a whole lot more superior and clever about ourselves. That is her only purpose in life.

And then again there's not much difference between the venom Brayton gave towards Craig and the venom some CBNers give to Brayton.

You wonder if these people think that Brosnan would somehow be thanking them for their idiotic crusade. In turning this into 'Craig vs. Brosnan,' they've created a PR nightmare for him.

The bitch deserved it. If you start a war, the don't expect everyone to roll over and ignore it. People will fight fire with fire. There would be no venom towards Brayton had she decided to protest in a more intelligent, unbiased, honest manner - instead of the shallow, gutter-level, deplorable, blinkered, dishonest, nasty, hate-filled campaign she decided to lead.

Can you not see that...?

Agreed. There's no defense for her, and I believe there is complete moral justification in retaliating against her and speaking in a language to her that she's guaranteed to understand.

I'm pretty much disgusted by both sides, Brayton and her cronies and the Craig thought police on CBn.

I may have been a tad more sympathetic towards the Craig fanatics initially, but that vanished when evidence surfaced that threats had been made towards Braytons family.

That someone threatened a 5 year old? Come on, most people don't know what she looks like, how are they going to know she's got kids - let alone how old they are, to direct threats to them?

Indeed, just a bit more sensationalism me thinks.

But back on topic, as desired... yeah $530m is decent! What do people estimate for the final box office total? I can't remember what I guessed before the film's release.

Actually it was a three year old.

Back on Topic: The Boycott sure has hurt hasn't it? I guess Craig will become Billion Dollar Bond after only two movies!

Well DanielCraigNotBond.com has become more laughable now than ever before. They cite box office figures -- which all clearly show that CR has matched Goldeneye at the box office and will likely surpass all the Brosnan Bonds at the global B.O. -- as somehow indicative of failure. "So far, the numbers show a decent $150 million take in the US. But that makes it no better or worse in this country's theatres than the previous Bond movies starring Pierce Brosnan." Then it goes on to show worldwide grosses for all of Brosnan Bond's (adjusted for inflation). Most of them made less than CR has already made.

So Daniel Craig's Bond makes more money than every single Brosnan film -- DanielCraigIsNotBond.com acknowledges this fact on its Web site -- and they somehow view that as a failure. Mind numbing, but fascinating.

They usually update on Thursdays, not Wednesdays. Their numbers include through Wednesday. Last week's for instance was mid-afternoon on Thursday (PT). Sometimes I've seen their update late enough that it will still be Wednesday in PT, but this is usually rare.
