I can say that Lazenby's best was OHMSS and Craig's best so far is CR. No matter what you say, I know I am right.

The only downside is Lazenby's and Craig's(so far for him anyway) "bests" are also their "worsts".

PrinceKamalKhan plays devil's advocate.

And the term is still singular: "worst."

Oh, OK, I get it. "Duh" me.

Timothy Dalton - The Living Daylights: My favorite Bond movie.

Then I say you have excellent taste, Agent 0015! :) I consider TLD my favorite Bond film made post-1970(probably post-1965 as well). It makes my heart glad to see how many admirers the underrated 1987 Bond film has.

These are what I have read:

Connery's favorite was From Russia With Love with Thunderball 2nd.
Moore's favorite was The Spy Who Loved Me with Octopussy 2nd.
Dalton's favorite was The Living Daylights.
Brosnan's favorite was GoldenEye.

If I can find the link that lists these I'll put it on here.

Laz: The only one
Moore: TSWLM
Dalton: TLD
Brozza: GE (would've been TND if not for the sloppy action direction)
Craig: The grand daddy of 'em all

Connery: FRWL...the definite Bond movie, SC was never as cool or as ruthless as in this one.

Lazenby: OHMSS...the film was so good ,it elevated Lazenby's performance.

Moore: TSWLM...the best of his films.

Dalton: TDL..fantastic film and a fantastic performance by TD.

Brosnan: Goldeneye: the best and most entertaining..and the closer to Bond out of his movies.

Craig: if he can top his spectacular debut in CR with a better film..DC can be the bes Bond of them all!

Sean Connery: I'm unsure. I'm rewatching Thunderball today, so I'll decide after that. Thus far, it's Goldfinger.

George Lazenby: On Her Majesty's Secret Service is my second-favourite Bond film and Lazenby is great.

Roger Moore: The Spy Who Loved Me is simply a brilliantly fun film and I very eagerly rank it in my top 5.

Timothy Dalton: The Living Daylights shows Dalton bringing and edge to Bond that probably hadn't ever been seen before. Both of Dalton's films have their problems, but I think this one still comes out on top as a superior thriller.

Pierce Brosnan: Tomorrow Never Dies, is just great fun, perfectly suited to Brosnan's style. His scenes with Teri Hatcher are just pure gold.

Daniel Craig: Casino Royale is my favourite Bond film, with Craig as my favourite Bond. 'Nuff said.

Crap sorry guys I meant TLD, I always get those mixed up.

It's no problem. You do bring up something though. As DaveBond21 said, it would have been interesting to have had Timothy Dalton in For Your Eyes Only, especially considering it's a more serious story.

I've suggested that the FYEO pretitle would've worked better as LTKs pretitle...with a more brutal Bond taking a more hands-on approach to vengeance ala YOLT (Ian's YOLT not the sexiful one).

Anyway....

Sean - FRWL
George - "JB" in The Man From UNCLE... what? I just wanted to be different... :cooltongue:
Roger - FYEO
Tim - TLD
Pierce - TND
Daniel - Casino Royale..his chemistry with Woody Allen was spectacular.

Since I have ranked the Bond films in other threads, I would like to interpret the question of this thread perhaps a little differently than was intended (with no offence at all intended towards the author).
So, here are not necessarily my favorite films by each actor, but the films in which I think each actor gave their best performance, which may or may not be the same thing.

Connery/Thunderball

Like your comments. Just watched most of TLD last night. I've read it's probably the Bond film that comes closest in mood and style to a Tom Clancy-thriller. Very realistic and down-to-earth but still a great load of fun. Similar to FYEO but much better IMHO. Also with you on TND. Brosnan/Hatcher generated great sparks on screen and the film is fast moving YOLT style fun. Definitely the least pretentious of Brosnan's Bonds.

Dalton-The Living Daylights {odd how I liked this so much yet disliked Licence To Kill}

Maybe because TLD has more the feel of a Cold War, Bondish spy film, replete with John Barry score, and LTK tends to feel more like Miami Vice? At least that's one of the reasons I prefer TLD to LTK.

Connery - FRWL (The best)
Lazenby - OHMSS (yeah, he had only one, but it was a good one)
Moore - FYEO (this one was great, a lot more straight-forward than previous Moore efforts)
Dalton - LTK (Dalton is superb)
Brosnan - GE (Good story. Good villain. Excellent return for 007)

Sean Connery - You Only Live Twice. Love the hideout in the volcano.

George Lazenby - Not even worth watching.

Roger Moore - Live and Let Die. Love the Voodoo action and the sexy Solitaire.

Timothy Dalton - License to Kill. Best choice from a poor selection.

Pierce Brosnan - Tomorrow Never Dies. Teri Hatcher at her best.

Connery - From Russia With Love (The best ever! Great plot and action.)
Lazenby - OHMSS (Easy to pick, but still a great movie)
Dalton - Licence to Kill (I like The Living Daylights, too, but this one is just too great to ignore!)
Brosnan - Goldeneye (His only good movie. What a great debut!)

Whoops! I accidently left someone out:

Moore - For Your Eyes Only (Despite the ridiculous opening sequence, it's a great movie that proved that Moore was more than just a goofball.)
