Tough question...

It's hard to say becuase both reboots were so sucessful and brought more fans into that franchise.

But if I had to guess I'd choose... The Dark Knight.

Oh God...does everything have to be This vs That?

Having said that, assuming we're talking about worldwide box office, then Bond 22.

Are we talking domestically (America) or worldwide? Domestically it'll probably be Batman, worldwide will be Bond.

I think that it will be close in the domestic (US) box office, with The Dark Night ending up with a slight advantage over Bond 22. In the worldwide market, however, if Casino Royale is any indication, Bond 22 will be a big winner.

USA B.O. - THE DARK KNIGHT wins.

Non-USA B.O. - BOND 22 will probably be bigger.

Worldwide B.O. - No clue.

Summer movies tend to do better in the US so domestically I'll say Batman, but frankly i couldnt care less about the batman movies.

The box office race will be close in America, but considering that it will open in the summer and feature Batman's arch-nemesis the Joker, I will go with The Dark Knight.

Worldwide, however, it will be, to quote Alec Trevelyan: "Bond, only Bond."

Box office, smock office, I want to know who would win in a fight. I go with 007 as he's only slightly less psychotic.

I'm going to give it to Bond. Far more popular. Also isn't Bond comming out in November 2008? And TDK in June 2008?

It's more likely that Bond 22 will have far less competition, than Batman which is comming out in the summer. I think I read that release date for Bond 22 film was actually moved around so that it would have less competition from potentially more popular films.

I 'd go with the scenario that says Batman domestically, but Bond worldwide. Our man James is a far more appealing archetype, while Batman has 'summer blockbuster' written all over it.

Bond will do better worldwide, but Batman will come out on top at the US box office. BEGINS grossed some $200 million Stateside, a figure CR looks unlikely to match.

Voted Bond.

1 - CR did better than B.Begins. There's your first clue.
2 - Bond will be more in the public memory than Batman comes 2008.

this is rather difficult for me, because i am a huge Bond fan, and Batman is my favorite superhero.

i'm going to have to go with:

U.S. - The Dark Night

Worldwide - Bond 22

You also have to factor in that Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six will be out in 2008 too.

In the US TDK is breaking box office records and BOnd will probably do about 60% of what TDK is doing.

Thank God for the international markets. Due to the Ledger/hype factor of TDK (there was not Ledger factor when this thread was created) I think there is a possibility that the US grosses will be strong enough to compensate for Bond's international take.

Its really a toss up at this point (and really depends on how good QoS turns out to be).

Actually, this was a pretty gutsy question when it was first posted. Today the answer seems as close to certainty as we can get. QoS hasn't a prayer of touching TDK's box office take. I'll be satisfied if it offers something even close to the mixture of great art and commerce.
