Possibly a slightly dumb question

As far as the Mathis betrayal situation, i believe there a few red herrings in CR, M says to Bond at the end about the Algerian boyfriend but it already been mentioned that the boyfriend is possibly the new adversary, it's possible that M has been misinformed or fed false information, they didn't spot Vesper's betrayal, so it's possible.

I think with this new direction they're going to try new things, what better than a mystery or a bit of misdirection, I believe Mathis is innocent and Bond and him will be thrown together at some point and their will be a lot of tension because of the mistrust of each other.

Although they don't have the full story of Bond 22 finished, I believe threads from CR are set to have consequences on it's plot and not just Vesper's fate.

Am I crediting P&W with too much talent, I don't know but we are going to get a continuing story and the idea that their are clues buried in CR about future elements of subsequent films is something that greatly excites me.
