I couldn't give it a proper rating because your scale does not go to eleven. :P

I gave it a ten. :)

10. Brilliant. Welcome to the era of Craig, second only to the Connery era. Craig's an amazing actor (that torture scene!! AHH) and he nailed the nuances of Bond. As a Bond movie, as a film, as a measure of acting....10. Thank you DC.

I'm certainly one of those who prefer a Moore or Brosnan-style outing. But it was clear from the get go that would not be the case. I gave it a good rating of 8.

I'd give it an 8 although that might go up once I've seen it a second time. Craig was superb as was the whole cast. My only real criticism was that the car chase was too short. I think after the poker scenes a big action scene was needed. Definatly one of the best Bond films ever

9 for me...but will be a 10 soon, as I like it more and more with each viewing.

I've seen it twice already.

I gave it a 6 out of 10 myself. Enjoyable film, but I had some problems with the pacing & the conga line of random baddies that kept appearing. That said, I am really curious as to where they'll go in the next film, as I think they had a lot of interesting, new ideas that I liked. I feel the next film will be much better than this one, once they work out the kinks a little bit.

I'd give it a 9.5/10, only subtracting the .5 because I thought it did drag a bit during the Bond/Vesper love scenes, but that's a very minor complaint because I really think it's the best Bond film ever.
This is the kind of Bond film I've been dreaming about for a long time and it's nice to finally see it become a reality.

Gave the film a 9. Overall enjoyable - felt the pre-credits were TOO rushed... I would have liked more Bond/Vesper time.... The song, well, I am still undecided about that one. Bravo to Barbara and Michael. Cubby would be so proud!

10. easy.

There were problems here or there but not only were they minimal - other things made up for them in spades.

Biggest thing for me was that the gunbarrel scene felt a little rushed...or perhaps forced is the better word...I don't know, I'll say again when I see it again.

9, it seems to me there was something I didn't like, but I'm still in some sort of post-CR condition that keeps me from thinking very clearly!

Ahh same here actually. There seems like something wasn't quite right, so I'm hovering at currently about 8-9. I'm usually quite a tough marker in these circumstances anyway. Expect it to boosted on second viewing tomorrow.

Yeah I think after I distance myself from it a little...it'll drop to a 9...but then again we'll see.

I give it a 10. I loved the movie...I think it is possibly the best Bond film ever.

I am concerned though...Three people walked out during the torture scene and the end of the movie was met with silence.
As I was leaving I also heard more than one person complaining that it just wasn't a Bond movie.

High praise indeed for one of the more negative posters from about a year ago. LOL

I gave it an 8.3 (8 rounded down in this poll) with no Bond movie getting higher than a 9.5 on my own scale and the weakest of them getting no lower than a 4.

PS,

You always seem to be concerned about something or another, my friend. The audiences I saw it with two different times yesterday were applauding at the end...Both times! (And I was not one of them, btw)

I wanted to give it a 9 to allow for small errors, but I couldn't think of any so I just had to give it a 10.

Brilliant Mr. Craig.

As a movie in general, I would rank it a 9. As a Bond film I rank it a 7. About half way through the movie, I thought, this doesn't feel like a Bond film. I realize they are building up to his "becoming Bond", but I wish I didn't have to wait til 08 to see Craig "as James Bond proper". I guess no one will surpass Sean in my eyes. And even "Fleming Bond" struggled with cold blooded killing, whereas Craig is a little too much of a killing machine for me. (not that Sean struggled with that either) :)

After two viewings I give it a nine. It's not quite perfect, but extremely close. Phenomenal film.

Even though I think the movie is better than all the movies of the past 4 Bond actors, it isn't QUITE perfect for me:
-It could have been a LITTLE more concise, but maybe I'm saying that because I saw a sneak preview at midnight
-On the other hand, the PTS could have been a bit longer. It felt too abrupt.

I give it a 9 (a 9.5)

I was reluctant to rate it at first because I thought that the excitement of seeing it for the first time would get me carried away and cloud my judgement. But, having seen it a second time, I give it a 9. This is by far the #1 best Bond movie of all time, but no Bond movie is perfect.

I'm really happy for everyone who likes CR on CBn, we all have finally got a decent, down to earth, gritty, dark, Bond thriller.
This is what 007 was meant to be.

A big cheer for Casino Royale, Daniel Craig, Martin Campbell and all of the other supporting cast and crew:
HIP HIP... HORRAY!! :)
