Anyway, the cinematography looks absolutely incredible and the action looks stunning. The Parkour Chase and The MIA Scenes look like instant classics.

Yeah. I'm amazed at how good the cinematography is. Phil Meheux hasn't really turned out such phenomenal work before (even his work on GOLDENEYE was just serviceable), but this seems like its up there among the best the series has ever offered.Anyway, the cinematography looks absolutely incredible and the action looks stunning.
Definitely. They look quite dramatic and intense. The Parkour Chase and The MIA Scenes look like instant classics.

That said, anyone saying Craig is not Bond after seeing those few more shots would have to be a nutcase or blind or idiot, or all three.
I haven't been that excited with a new Bond movie since... first discovering the Connery movies !

It really does, one of my favourite shots is Bond (not Craig, Bond) on the laptop in the Bahamas with the orange light coming through, think it looks great. So does the stuff in M's house actually. Do we see her room twice?
(Highlight to read) Once when Bond breaks in and the screen pops up next to her bed (wow by thw way, I want one) so she can see what he's doing, and once when Villiers calls to tell her Bond's in the Bahamas?
Does anyone else have any favourite bits from the new PROMO ?

For god sake, give us a jetpack with stinger missiles or a laser equipped Rolex watch and leave this everyday technology to Bourne.
No thanks.

He says: "Could be a double blind. Keep sweating him."Also, what is the dialogue that Craig says on the phone? I can't make it out.

But seriously, what is a double blind? I'm sure I could look it up on the net but can't be bothered.

I can explain it for you.Did you have a problem with DN or OHMSS? They had no gadgets.
There seems to be plenty of gadgets in Casino Royale so the question is not as easy as "gadgets" or "no gadgets". I'm against impossible technology in Bondfilms such as invisible cars. Bond is fantasy, but still within the limitations of our world.
But I'm also against the use of various everyday-stuff (such as cameras, laptops, cell phones etc.) that they use around Bond just for the sake of it. These products only have one purpose: marketing. James Bond himself looks like the Michelin Guy in the chaos of all these products that the audience is expected to buy after the film.
Remember Christmas Jones's handheld HP Jordana in TWINE? No, I didn't think so either. Blink and you miss it. Pointless.
We have seen casinos scenes, good action and wonderful locations. What this film screams for now is a genuine Bond gadget and the pure simplicity and charm that comes with it.

Um, each and every one plays a role in the story. It's not like there are any token scenes of Bond tinkering on a laptop. But I'm also against the use of various everyday-stuff (such as cameras, laptops, cell phones etc.) that they use around Bond just for the sake of it.
It was hardly pointless. She needed *some* kind of tech for that scene - it might as well have been a hand-held HP Jordana.Remember Christmas Jones's handheld HP Jordana in TWINE? No, I didn't think so either. Blink and you miss it. Pointless.
I couldn't disagree more - I think CASINO ROYALE will prove to be more interesting for the lack of it. The whole "Bond gadget" thing has really been done to deeeeeeeath over the past 20 years. A little break is not going to harm anyone. What this film screams for now is a genuine Bond gadget and the pure simplicity and charm that comes with it.

There is no lack of technology in CR. On the contrary, there seem to be more reliance on modern-day technology than ever in a Bondfilm. I am all for it, if it serves a purpose. But we all know how it works; they find a product and invent a scene. Anyway, ultra hi-tec technology and blinking displays have been done to death in spy/action films for the last 50 years, and less is always better for Bond.I couldn't disagree more - I think CASINO ROYALE will prove to be more interesting for the lack of it. Maybe - hard to say. I have a feeling the script was written with these items in it, and of course they were going to be Sony items all along, but they were there not for product placement, but primarily for the role they play. Each and every one of these items serves some sort of function to the story itself, more so than Christmas Jones' token hand-held.But we all know how it works; they find a product and invent a scene.
Personally, I think seeing him use a laptop is quite refreshing. It's about time.Anyway, ultra hi-tec technology and blinking displays have been done to death in spy/action films for the last 50 years, and less is always better for Bond.

I mean, you have cell phone, it takes pictures, it can also download data... etc...
Screaming "I want gadgets back I miss them" while that is all there is around is the talk of the ostrich with the head in the sand, dare I say...

Read it again, and I'm sure you will understand. There's a difference between 'Bond gadgets' and marketing products.I don't get you people, aren't gadgets, and I mean old Bond sixties gadgets, now part of the everyday life of each of us ?
