Compared to possibly a matter of hours!
I admit it's very possible that it may be just the teaser again, if it is shame on you Sony!

There's an old saying in Tennessee - I know it's in Texas, it's probably in Tennessee - that says, fool me once, shame on ... shame on you. It fool me. We can't get fooled again.

Are they actually going to show it on TV? The latest ad said to check online for the Sony previews or something like that. Maybe that's what the "Sony rep" ment that no "trailer" would be shown with Nip/tuck. If this was just the old teaser I doubt they would be hyping these previews so much. Oh well less than three hours left. Maybe I'm reading into this too much and spinning myself in circles.
Yes they are. There has been an ad running for weeks now that states in no uncertain terms that during tonight's Nip/Tuck they will be showing previews for five Sony movies, one of which is Casino Royale.

It really does sound farfetched for a two minute trailer to feature on tv as an ad, i really cant think of any other ad i have seen that lasts for two minutes.
Is it common for trailers two minutes in lenght to feature on US tv?

Absolutely. It depends on the situation. In this case SONY has agreed to sponsor the entire season premiere so I'd say seeing a full 2 minute trailer seems very likely in this instance. If it were a mere 30 promo spot what would be the point? It only makes sense to trumpet the exclusivity if they're going to show something substantial and new.To be honest i have never seen a two minute full length trailer been shown tv.. I dont know if it is any different in the US, but as far as i can recall in the UK and Greece they only show specially edited tv spots ( 20 seconds - 45 seconds max)

It depends on how many blocks they're willing to pay for. It's not unprecedented. Superman Returns for instance premi

As you said, it's a recent trend in the US to premiere certain trailers during TV programming, and "Nip/Tuck" is one of the highest rated programs on Cable (and one with demographics that "Casino Royale" would appeal to).

It makes no sense to buy up all the airtime with a high profile program just to show a teaser trailer that is close to four months old already. In my opinion, they have to be showing something new. Possibly not the full trailer, but definitely something viewers would not have seen before. It just has to be something new! Why would they debut the full trailer for their highest profile film this fall with "The Gridiron Gang"? They'll reach millions more with Nip/Tuck. Sony can't be that dumb can they?
