On occasion unvalidated rumours get used by less scrupulous journalists in order to create a story. In this case a reporter is quoting an anonymous "insider" who claims that a homo erotic subtext will be added to Bond and Felix's relationship, apparently, in order to attract Craig's "gay fan base."

This is no different from the sort of trashy glossy women's magazines that claim female celebrities are pregnant or that famous couple's marriages are on the rocks.

In short the reporter is trying to create a story out of nothing in order to sell copies of their particular newspaper, magazine what have you.

Hard as it is to believe, I felt fairly sure he was for real, now I'm starting to wonder too. He would be one of my favourites too if it weren't for the rank homophobia, real or wind-up.
