SPECTRE
I've been looking forward to this one since McClory first announced it in Variety in 1985.

SPECTRE
I've been looking forward to this one since McClory first announced it in Variety in 1985.
I think we're going to get something VERY different from what McClory was planning back in the mid-eighties.
I just have to say that I love the double-reference in the bullet hole "logo" used for the teaser image, but in the rebooted timeline it doesn't necessarily make sense...

"I certainly hope so too."
But does this mean no mechanical sharks at the Statue of Liberty?

I'm in the mood for a double feature of Quantum of Solace and Octopussy tonight..

I'm in the mood to watch QoS - one of the under appreciated gems in the franchise.

I'm trying to avoid watching any Bond film until next fall, but this is really tempting...

In light of the SPECTRE announcement, my desire to watch THUNDERBALL again has increased.
FRWL being a close second.

Bond slowly pumping into my veins.
I love Bond, but Skyfall was 3 years ago and even though it did fly over the lack of news about the series created a bit of a drought. One doesn't view Bond as much, and is distracted with other things. (Doctor Who 50th, Game of Thrones for example.) In the end, once again, another Bond buzz is just what the system needs. Cannot wait for this. My excitement is building. I hope the Gunbarrel is at the beginning this time.
I'm in a bit on an early Bond mood. Touching a little on Daniel Craig, but I watched Skyfall a few nights ago. I'll probably revisit a few SPECTRE films though. And sadly, You Only Live Twice as well. The bad egg in an otherwise flawless list of classic Bond (Dr No, From Russia With Love, Goldfinger, Thunderball, On Her Majesty's Secret Service).

Just take it in historical/cultural context, and remember "Twice" is the only way to live!

Might make some time to revisit the good old days of Craig's tenure with either Casino Royale or Quantum of Solace.

I'm in the mood to watch Moonraker. I'm guessing mainly because I heard the theme to Magnificent 7 today.

Don't forget NSNA! Well, just to be complete.

I completed my marathon, btw! No NSNA for me - I don't consider it a Bond film myself (plus I REALLY don't like it)

Fair enough.

SPECTRE, but since I can't do that at the moment, I guess I'll go with Casino Royale. I could always use a little more Eva Green in my day.

I'm intrigued by the idea of a spector marathon. That being said, however, I just started Skyfall.

Ah, the Martin Campbell double bill ... or is that the M paradox?

Actually the reverse Aston Martin DB5s.

Think I'm going to try for a chronological James Bond marathon (including NSNA) over Christmas vacation.
Posted 17 December 2014 - 01:26 AM
I am going to watch YOLT one day soon. It has been ages.
Posted 17 December 2014 - 10:42 AM
7 films into my Bond marathon, of which I´m watching in no particular order. Yesterday, it was The World Is Not Enough, today I´m thinking Dr. No. All the people down in Kingston town, all the people go Jump Up!

As its the 45 anniversary this month, I will be viewing On Her Majesty's Secret Service tonight..
Posted 18 December 2014 - 03:29 PM
Well all this bulls*** with North Korea is making me want to see James Bond kick some North Korean ass. So, and I can't believe I'm saying this, but I actually kind of want to watch Die Another Day.

I agree with seawolfny. SF is on terrestrial TV in the UK for the first time, and I notice that DN is on over the Xmas period as well, but I'm going to find time during my hols to watch DAD, on principle. I hope the following doesn't sound too po faced.
"The Interview" doesn't sound like my kind of film at all. I've read an article about it in my newspaper today by someone who has actually seen it. It reads like a typical Hollywood "pitch" that seemed like a good idea at the time it was pitched.
But that's not the point.
Sony, Hollywood, indeed no one should be bullied into pulling a film, or anything else, because a self appointed bunch of computer hackers with an agenda threaten dire straits if it isn't done. There's such a thing as freedom of expression. It is up to the paying public, not these hackers or an ultra sensitive dictator to decide if this film is worthy or not.
So I'm going to watch DAD over Xmas, a film which, if the North Korean leaders had anything about them, should have enraged the Pyongyang regime. Torture, brutality, that Madonna theme tune and a relationship between villain and dad which was obviously meant to remind the audience about the very worst kind of family business.
