The Living Daylights. I must be in a mood for 1980s Cold War-era Bond.
Coincidentally, me too! Netflix is shooting TLD to me tomorrow. I haven't seen it in probably 10 years. Opinions of the movie on CBn are high so I'm looking forward to it.

Enjoy it
Do you have a copy of Fleming's TLD short story? I highly recommend reading it prior to watching the film. My reading TLD prior to my first viewing of it probably greatly contributed to it being one of my favorite Bond films ever. Dalton's terrific debut performance, his plausible chemistry with the lovely Maryam d'Abo, Barry's score, the intricate Cold War-era espionage/intrigue plot, the stunts and action from the PTS to the Ice Chase to the Bond/Necros battle aboard the Hercules make it the best of the "down to earth" Bond films of the 1980s.

No but I'll look into it. Thanks for the tip. I'll let you know what I think of it. I like Dalton, but LTK is a fork in the eye for me so hoping I will cotton a lot more to TLD.

I know, I know. I just need to jettison this whole family and work thing so I can get a little more time with 007!
I just viewed TMWTGG and LALD which I hadn't properly watched for 25 years! The fun part is I am re-discovering a great many of the Bond movies and having a ball doing so.

I certainly agree with that. Sometimes it's good to give them all a break sometimes and then re-watch them. I find that some of my views on particular movies change as I get older, too.

BTW, Dalton was a darn good Bond. Shame that we had wait nearly 20 years to have another great interpretation of the character.

I'm in the mood for TLD. The PTS is one of the most exciting in the series. Not to mention visually stunning. I much prefer the Dalton from TLD to the one from LTK, despite popular opinion.

Those words are music to my ears, bondrules. What CR was to 2000s Bond and FRWL and OHMSS were to 1960s Bond, TLD was to 1980s Bond.

To me, and millions of others, we didn't. Dalton, Brosnan and Craig are all great Bonds.

Why Dr.No? Because it is the start of a new decade and so I am thinking of starting it by watching the Bond films in order.
Ditto that. Each of the Bonds have their strengths and weaknesses but overall, I think they have all been great.I'm in the mood for TLD. The PTS is one of the most exciting in the series. In the mood for LTK. I'm in a Dalton mood as well. Iam feeling nostalgic for Robert Davi's evil Sanchez... who could whoop a** over any of the Brosnan villains any day.
He'd probably use that machete as soon as he'd clamp eyes on Brosnan if you ask me.
I actually wathed the movie there last week and gotta say, it never gets old for me. Along with TLD, it's gotta be the best.

Tell me about it!
I've got them all on now on the Ultimate Edition DVD's, but getting time to watch them is proving difficult. Man, what I'd give for a few days sitting around the house watching some of the old favs. I've only managed one movie in the last 3 weeks or so. Also have a massive pile of newly-acquired Hammer Horrors to get through and a few Springsteen shows on DVD from the last tour. Man, where can I get me some time? Work sucks. Whose idea was it to work 5 days a week anyway?
On topic: I really feel like watching Dr. No next.

I'm in the mood for Connery in THUNDERBALL.
Go for it! Have fun with Domino and Fiona.
I'm in the mood for, of all things, A View to a Kill!
I guess nostalgia for the 1980s, Sir Rog and John Barry is getting to me.

Nothing wrong with A View to a Kill in my book (though sentimentality may be clouding my judgment - it was the first one I ever saw at the movies).
I don't mind A View To A Kill much now, actually. It's really grown on me.
It's just shocking to me because I hated AVTAK the first time I saw it and considered it the nadir of the series for years. I've mellowed toward it somewhat in recent years. I still consider it the weakest film up to that point(1985, that is) in the series. However, John Barry's elegaic score combined with it being Roger Moore's last Bond performance and his being a "lion in winter" in it has helped increase my enjoyment of it along with the locations in the first half(particularly Chateaux Chantilly), the remnant of Cold War ambience, a refreshing lack of pretentiousness(i.e, no "peel back the layers"), no "this time it's personal" subplot, and the supporting performances of Patrick MacNee, Fiona Fullerton and Alison Doody. It's still got many flaws but I have raised it from weakest film to my current #20 out of 22.
Call me crazy, call me out of this world, but I am in the mood for some Moonraker lovin'!
Give in to it. MR's my favorite Moore and very underrated.
