THUNDERBALL
I just love the atmosphere on this movie, the Bahamas, the soundtrack.
(I'm listening to the soundtrack, as I type this.)
Moonraker
Ah, my favorite Connery Bond film and my favorite Moore film. There's just something about a Bond actor's 4th film and his performance in it. I highly encourage you both to pop your DVDs or VHSs in the machine and watch 'em tonight
How do you feel about DAD?
I actually like it(or rather the first 2/3 of it, anyway). I agree with DAD's critics that it has many blemishes(bad CGI, Madonna, 95% of Jinx's dialogue, the horrendous rip off of the superior finale on the Hercules in TLD, among others). But it does feature my favorite Brosnan as Bond performance. The older, haggard, cigar smoking, less PC turn his 4th time around was actually his best. The PC, sensitive girly man of the 1990s Bond was gone and it was for his good. In watching some of it the other night, I actually became a little sad Brosnan didn't get to do a 5th. However, I would not've wanted it to be CR.
I am in the mood for Goldeneye, but if I could watch 2 right now it would be LTK followed by Goldeneye, an underrated double-bill.
Go for it, DaveBond21. LTK/GE is actually a very good idea for a Bond double feature. The last one for one actor leading to the first one for his successor. Speaking of, I think a double feature of
Die Another Day and
Casino Royale would be very good right now. I think both 2000s Bond films better than all 3 of the 1990s ones.
